Chapter 678 - 676: Falling in Love With You [3 Updates]
In an instant, Sophia Bennett’s mind went blank.
This was the second kiss in her life, and both times it was Christopher Scott who kissed her.
She still remembered the first time Christopher kissed her, it was because she threatened him; but at the time, she was just joking with him, never expecting him to take it seriously.
But this time, she hadn’t threatened Christopher. He kissed her on his own initiative, leaving her bewildered.
Sophia felt Christopher’s kiss was light and gentle, unhurried, not frantic, as if enjoying the tender flow of time.
Christopher’s kiss made Sophia fascinated, making her forget to push him away, just staring dumbly with big eyes into Christopher’s eyes,
Later, she couldn’t catch her breath, her head swayed side to side, yet she still didn’t use her idle hands to push Christopher away.
Seeing this, Christopher immediately let her go, his big hand gently caressing her small face, his smile as bright as ever.
Despite Sophia always avoiding him, when he kissed her, she didn’t push him away, leading Christopher to believe this was evidence that Sophia liked him.
Even though she had said she would give up on him, whenever he got close, she still enjoyed the intimacy with him.
Christopher hadn’t enjoyed such a pure kiss for a long time; he loved her sweet taste, loved the softness of her lips, loved holding her in his arms.
When he looked down at Sophia, he saw her tightly furrowed brows, her pouty little mouth, looking aggrievedly at him.
Seeing Sophia’s pitiful appearance, Christopher’s smile grew even brighter.
His big hand stroked her brow, trying to smooth out her furrowed forehead.
Annoyed, Sophia swatted his big hand away, blinking her big eyes, demanding an explanation from Christopher.
Looking at her aggrieved face, Christopher cupped her little face again and seriously said, "Sophia, let’s try. I want to date you."
"Boom..." Sophia felt as if the sky had fallen, her heart was already in chaos.
She thought she must be dreaming, otherwise why would Christopher want to date her; if not a dream, then Christopher must be crazy.
Sophia took a deep breath, staring straight into Christopher’s eyes, feeling that his gentle face was suddenly unfamiliar, as if she never knew him.
Sophia felt dizzy and didn’t know what to say or do.
Several times, she wanted to speak, but found she had lost the ability to talk; she was scared stiff by Christopher.
She needed to calm down, to quietly think about Christopher’s transformation and what he had said.
If things continued like this between them, she would surely crumble, her head would explode.
Christopher was too strange today, and did too many strange things to her. She had to go home to process and slowly clarify their relationship.
Thus, Sophia quickly raised her little hand, abruptly pushed Christopher away, and dashed towards the main hall of the bar.
Everyone was stunned seeing Sophia run out with a flushed face, and before they could ask what happened, she grabbed her bag from the sofa and ran out without looking back.
Maya Spencer saw this and immediately stood up to chase after her, but Liam Spencer pulled her back and said, "Maya, let Christopher handle it."
Leaving space and time for Christopher was the best option, letting them sort out this layer of their relationship, and break through the barrier.
Maya listened to Liam’s words, hopping in anxiety, and had to grab Christopher as he ran out, asking, "Christopher, what happened?"
"Nothing happened, I just told Sophia I want to date her, and she ran away," Christopher said and then sprinted after her.
"Pfft..." Hearing Christopher’s explanation, Maya was amused, eventually laughing.
"Oh! Christopher, you jerk, really cheeky." Soon after, Christopher was met with everyone’s taunts.
This guy finally succumbed to Sophia’s charm, defeated under her spell.
Christopher paid no heed to the taunts, grabbing his phone and car keys from the table, and chased after her.
When Christopher reached the bar entrance, Sophia’s car was already backing out.
In the car, seeing Christopher chasing after her, Sophia panicked and stepped hard on the accelerator, speeding away from the bar.
Sophia’s hands trembling on the steering wheel, her legs shaking too, recalling Christopher’s words; her mind in chaos, feeling like her head was about to explode.
She couldn’t have imagined Christopher wanting to date her, it was too unexpected and terrifying.
She couldn’t understand what had gotten into Christopher, but overall, Sophia was frightened; whenever she thought of Christopher getting close, she was terrified.
Sophia dared not accept Christopher’s advances because she feared it was all a dream, feared waking up to find she had nothing.
Previously, she often dreamt this way, dreaming of Christopher liking her, dreaming of being with him; but every time she woke up, she would hold the pillow and lose sleep.
However, today’s dream felt more real than ever; she could genuinely feel Christopher’s presence, smell his scent, feel his breath, even touch his warmth.
She cherished the feeling of being held in Christopher’s arms but feared the disappointment upon waking.
Instead of embracing a sweet dream only to meet disappointment, it would be better not to begin at all.
She was unwilling to experience that helpless and unfulfilled fall from a height.
During this time, she cut her hair short, reassuring herself to be strong, not letting herself be trapped in a dream.
If she sank into this, what would everything she did before mean?
At the bar entrance, Christopher watched Sophia’s car speeding away, his heart trembling with fear.
Sophia’s emotions were unstable; he was uneasy about her driving alone. What if something happened on the road? How would he explain to the Bennett Family, to himself?
So, without another word, Christopher got in his car and chased after Sophia.
He forgot that he had just been drinking at the bar; both he and Sophia were half-crazy at the moment.
Christopher chased behind Sophia’s car, seeing her speeding, immediately called Asher Norton to deal with blocking the road; the fewer cars on the road, the safer Sophia would be.
Asher received the call and quickly arranged it, soon there were significantly fewer cars on the highway.
At this moment, Christopher had caught up to Sophia’s car. He opened the passenger window and shouted loudly to Sophia, "Sophia, slow down."
Despite shouting several times, Sophia didn’t react at all; in her confused state, she failed to notice Christopher was beside her.
