Chapter 677 - 675: Christopher Scott Went Crazy [2nd Update]
She listened to the approaching footsteps of the boy, and her small hands unconsciously rested on Christopher Scott’s waist, cooperating with his act.
For a moment, Sophia Bennett couldn’t even tell if she was acting or if she genuinely wanted to be close to Christopher Scott.
As she felt the breath of Christopher Scott, past memories drew closer, reminding her of his disdain for her; remembering how he never seriously replied to her texts; remembering how he would go so far as to entangle with other women just to make her give up on him.
As Sophia Bennett thought about these past events, her sense of inferiority inexplicably rose again, and her small hands gently slipped from his waist and tucked behind her back.
She had already said she would give up on Christopher Scott; this was just him playing along to help her fend off someone she didn’t like, yet she took it seriously. Sophia Bennett despised her own lack of resolve, so she simply hid her hands away.
In the hallway, the boy held the bouquet, walking closer to the two, unable to see Sophia Bennett’s face clearly, only sensing their intimacy, as if eager to find a big bed and tumble onto it.
The boy took a deep breath and cautiously called out, "Sophia Bennett, are you in the restroom?"
However, there was no response from inside the restroom.
When his gaze fell on Sophia Bennett and Christopher Scott again, he saw Christopher Scott’s right hand covering most of the girl’s face, and the other side was blocked by his handsome face, as if he were kissing the girl embracing him intimately.
After calling Sophia Bennett a few more times without getting any attention, the boy left with the flowers.
Sophia Bennett listened to the boy’s footsteps grow distant until they completely disappeared, and she immediately pulled her small hands from behind her back, pushing Christopher Scott away from her face.
Even though what happened was utterly unbelievable, she could still feel that Christopher Scott had just kissed her face, and it was very passionate.
At that moment, Sophia Bennett was so shocked that she forgot to push Christopher Scott away.
It wasn’t until she heard the boy call her name that she snapped out of her daze, realizing that Christopher Scott was taking advantage of her, and she hadn’t immediately pushed him away.
Afraid of causing a misunderstanding with Christopher Scott, once the boy’s footsteps disappeared, Sophia Bennett promptly pushed Christopher Scott away.
Then, she rested her small hand on Christopher Scott’s chest, gently pushing him back, and awkwardly said, "Thank you!"
Seeing that Sophia Bennett was about to leave, Christopher Scott immediately reached out his large hand, grabbed her wrist, and lightly pressed her against the wall again, his hands propped on either side of her head. He leaned slightly forward, fixed his gaze on her eyes, and asked, "Why are you avoiding me?"
Sophia Bennett’s heart skipped a beat at Christopher Scott’s question, instinctively lying, "I’m not."
Her explanation was something Christopher Scott didn’t believe at all, and he continued to pursue, "Why did you lie to me, saying Theo was your boyfriend?"
Sophia Bennett panicked, not expecting her lie to be uncovered so quickly. She took a deep breath, lifted her head, and blinked her big eyes at Christopher Scott, as if pleading for his sympathy, hoping he wouldn’t question her so aggressively. She was so scared, so flustered.
If he didn’t let her go soon, she was going to burst into tears.
Looking at Sophia Bennett’s aggrieved expression, seeing the little turtle on her left cheek, Christopher Scott couldn’t help but laugh again with a "Pff..."
Then, he leaned in a bit closer to Sophia Bennett, sticking even closer to her. "Hmm?" he prompted her again.
Sophia Bennett watched Christopher Scott’s face getting closer and listened to his questioning again, her heart practically leaping into her throat.
She bit her lower lip and immediately looked away. She dared not meet Christopher Scott’s gaze because her eyes were too affectionate. She was afraid she’d fall, get addicted; hence she used avoidance to reject his questions.
However, Christopher Scott didn’t intend to let Sophia Bennett off. He lifted his right hand, tilted up her chin, making her look into his eyes, and seriously asked, "Why did you lie to me?"
The man seemed to have a natural aura in front of a woman; his every move, every smile when serious, always made it impossible for a woman to refuse, just like at this moment. Sophia Bennett felt she couldn’t escape.
She knew unless she gave Christopher Scott a reasonable explanation, he wouldn’t let her go.
Therefore, Sophia Bennett took a deep breath, closed her eyes tightly, and bluntly said, "I just wanted to save face, wanted to show off, didn’t want you to look down on me, think nobody wants me, so I lied to you."
After Sophia Bennett finished, she immediately lowered her head, biting her lower lip hard, waiting for Christopher Scott’s sarcasm.
She thought to herself, since he despised her so much, interrogating her lie so severely, it must be to mock her, ridicule her.
Fine! You’ve made your bed, now lie in it. She accepted it! Who asked her to lie for the sake of face, let Christopher Scott scold if he must! Anyway, she wouldn’t pursue him in the future, even if he wanted to scold he wouldn’t have the chance, this was the last tiny handle left in his hands, once it’s spoken out, she didn’t need to feel guilty, no longer worried about a lie that remained unexposed.
Yet, she waited for a long while and didn’t receive any sarcasm from Christopher Scott, but clearly sensed he hadn’t left; she could still hear his breathing, could still feel his breath spraying over her face.
Sophia Bennett held her breath, slowly raised her head and opened her eyes, only to see Christopher Scott lowering his head, intently gazing at her, and the smile at the corner of his mouth was exceptionally bright, exceptionally indulgent, just like Liam Spencer looked at Maya Spencer, full of love.
Sophia Bennett couldn’t understand Christopher Scott’s gaze, only feeling deeply embarrassed, desperately wanting to escape, to hold Maya Spencer and tell Maya that Christopher Scott had gone crazy, he really seemed mad today, kept smiling at her.
So, she lifted the corners of her mouth, mocking Christopher Scott with two fake laughs.
When she was about to push Christopher Scott away, he suddenly smiled and asked, "Sophia Bennett, are you silly?"
Sophia Bennett was baffled again, unable to comprehend the meaning in Christopher Scott’s words. She stared at Christopher Scott for a moment, making her face blush, so she immediately averted her eyes and inadvertently glanced outside the aisle.
Following that, she raised her small hand, pointed at the place where the boy left, and awkwardly laughed, saying, "It’s so annoying! Being pursued by someone you don’t like is such an annoying thing, sorry! I’ve bothered you for so long."
At this moment, Sophia Bennett really seemed to somewhat empathize, able to understand why Christopher Scott would ignore her. She thought she had bothered him for so long, the fact that Christopher Scott didn’t lay a hand on her was already a good thing.
Facing the girl’s more painful-than-crying smile, Christopher Scott was at a loss, not knowing what to say to her.
Sophia Bennett stared at Christopher Scott’s deeply affectionate gaze, goosebumps rising all over, making her desperately want to escape, the farther away from him the better.
However, before she could manage to push Christopher Scott away, the man’s hands suddenly cupped her small face, quickly leaned down, and unceremoniously kissed her lips.
