Chapter 676 - 674: You’re Really Cowardly [1st Update]
She didn’t want to reject him in front of so many friends, nor did she want to say anything hurtful to provoke him again.
This feeling, Sophia had experienced it. It was embarrassing and very uncomfortable.
So, without thinking, she immediately stood up and excused herself, saying, "You guys play on, I’m going to the restroom for a bit, will be back soon."
She was avoiding the boy who confessed, wanting to come out after he left.
The group didn’t know the boy, so they didn’t ask Sophia anything, letting her go to the restroom.
In the restroom, Sophia clenched her fists, pacing back and forth, just hoping the boy would leave quickly and not cause a scene, otherwise she’d die of embarrassment.
Sophia had just left for a moment when Christopher also stood up and left.
Maya watched Christopher’s departing figure, a mischievous smile tugged at her lips, thinking, this guy is even clingier than Sophia, follows even to the restroom.
However, the moment they left, the boy holding flowers approached, scanning the crowd for a glimpse of Sophia.
Unfortunately, after looking around, he didn’t see Sophia.
Then, looking at Maya, he asked, "Excuse me, is Sophia here?"
Maya saw the boy was looking for Sophia, instantly perked up, sizing him up from head to toe, suddenly wanting to laugh.
She looked at the bouquet in his hand, recalling Sophia’s earlier escape, she was clearly avoiding this suitor before her eyes.
Maya took a deep breath, mischievously said, "Sophia! She’s here, just don’t know where she went, why not look around the bar yourself!" Sophia wants to avoid this boy; Maya deliberately doesn’t want her to hide, and wants Christopher to witness the scene.
She wanted that guy to see clearly, her sister is not unwanted, luck in love has been going strong lately!
As for the boy pursuing Sophia, let him be! Either way, he won’t stop until he finds her or is utterly heartbroken.
Listening to Maya’s words, the boy quickly thanked her multiple times and turned to continue looking for Sophia in the bar.
After Maya said this, the security staff didn’t trouble the boy further, letting him search freely in the bar.
Liam watched a certain someone’s mischievous smile, reached out to wrap her in his arms, playfully biting her ear, sweetly chiding, "Maya, you’re so naughty."
"Same to you!" Maya said indifferently.
At the restroom entrance, Christopher stood in the public area, ears tuned to the noises inside; he heard Sophia’s hurried footsteps clearly, indicating she wasn’t fond of the suitor and maybe a bit annoyed by him.
Listening to her anxious footsteps, Christopher, hands in his pockets, casually walked towards the main hall, seeing the boy still searching every corner for Sophia’s shadow.
Christopher furrowed his brow, turned around, and headed back to the restroom, intending to call Sophia out. He didn’t want to see her distressed over another man, even if it’s because she doesn’t like him.
He wanted to tell Sophia, if she didn’t like the boy, she could speak clearly with him; if she wanted any help, even acting, he was willing to provide, even pretending for real.
Thus, as he approached the restroom, he stepped over to the ladies’ side, knocking on the restroom door with his right hand.
In an instant, Sophia was scared stiff, thinking the boy had chased after her, and immediately locked the restroom door.
At that moment, she understood how painful it was to be pursued by someone she didn’t like.
Outside, Christopher heard the door locking sound, chuckled helplessly; the closer he got to Sophia, the more adorable he found her, actually being scared into the restroom by a suitor—a sight likely never seen before nor to be seen again.
Christopher shook his head in helpless amusement, knocked on the door again, calmly saying, "Sophia, it’s me!"
Inside the restroom, Sophia heard Christopher’s voice and froze for a moment.
Afterward, she quickly came to her senses and opened the restroom door.
She remembered Christopher had seen the boy at the department store; maybe he was just here to inform her, telling her the boy had already left.
So, the moment she opened the restroom door, she awkwardly smiled and asked, "Has that, that boy left?"
Christopher looked at Sophia’s nervous demeanor, immediately reached out his right hand, grabbed her small hand clinging to the door, pulling her out of the restroom, saying, "What are you hiding for? Just clarify things with him."
While the two were talking, the boy suddenly came down the corridor.
Seeing this, Sophia instantly tried to dive back into the restroom.
Christopher, watching her panic, without hesitation pushed her against the wall behind, his left hand propped beside her head, body slightly angled, while his right hand covered her face, effectively blocking her.
He originally didn’t want to cover for Sophia but upon seeing her attempt to escape, impulsively blocked her.
At this moment, he bent slightly forward, leaning close to Sophia’s ear, as if whispering sweet nothings, creating an extremely ambiguous scene, just enough to block Sophia.
Sophia felt Christopher’s closeness, even able to sense his heartbeat.
She could clearly feel Christopher’s breath, his warm breath sprayed onto her ear, making her drowsy, almost swooning into his embrace, but fortunately, her willpower held strong.
"Sophia, you’re really timid." When Christopher’s body leaned close to Sophia’s, he could feel her freeze, even holding her breath.
He called Sophia timid, not solely because she hid from the boy in the restroom but also because she seemed afraid of his proximity, which surprised Christopher.
Listening to Christopher’s admonishment, Sophia took a deep breath, tightly closed her eyes, clenching fists, pressing her back against the wall, keeping a certain distance from Christopher.
Yet Christopher’s warm breath surrounded her ear, mesmerizing her.
When his lips unintentionally brushed her earlobe, she felt her heart about to explode, dazed, surprisingly fearing Christopher’s approach, feeling an impulse to push him away, but afraid of being seen by the boy if she did.
Thus, she bit her lip, continued hiding in his arms, letting him shield her.
Christopher glanced at Sophia’s side face, looking at the girl tightly closing her eyes, he couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle.
Such a nervously acting Sophia, really cute, making him want to approach her even more, wanting to lean in with his lips and kiss her closed eyes, yet fearing she would suddenly push him away, so he suppressed the inner excitement.
However, the lips near her ear continued drawing closer to her, his left hand involuntarily resting on her waist.
In an instant, Sophia felt she might get a nosebleed, not expecting Christopher to go to such lengths to cover for her.
