No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother

Chapter 270 - 268 Want to Be Confined [3rd Update]

"Hmm!" Maya didn’t even think about it and agreed.

At the dining table, Kinsley looked at the girl who seemed indifferent. He felt a bit awkward; on the wedding day, he had paired her with Liam without her consent.

He took a deep breath and apologized, "Maya, the whole wedding thing happened too suddenly. I had no choice but to go along. How are you doing with Liam?"

Listening to Kinsley’s explanation, Maya, flipping through the menu, said dismissively, "It’s okay, as long as it doesn’t involve you. Liam can’t do anything to me."

After finishing, she put down the menu, raised her head, and looked at Kinsley seriously, saying, "After all, I am also the eldest Hanson daughter."

Kinsley knew that the girl was comforting him. But the situation was beyond their control. No one expected Liam to play such a cheap trick, leaving no way out for them.

"Maya, why don’t you leave? Don’t go back to S City." The last strategy of the 36 stratagems, apart from this one, Kinsley couldn’t think of a way to get Maya out of this situation.

"Even if I want to leave, it won’t be easy." Maya was more aware of her predicament than anyone. This time she wanted to escape; it wouldn’t be that easy. Besides, she could sense that her uncle was very satisfied with the current situation and didn’t want her to leave.

While the two were chatting, Maya’s phone rang. She glanced at the phone on the table, saw the name Liam Spencer, and her brows immediately furrowed.

She stared at the phone for a moment before slowly picking it up, lazily saying, "What’s up?"

"Maya, where are you? I’ll pick you up for dinner." The man’s voice on the other end was very calm.

"No need, I’m already having dinner." Maya hurriedly explained upon hearing that Liam wanted to pick her up for dinner.

"Alone?" The man listened to her panicked voice and frowned as he pursued the question.

Hearing his question, Maya paused for a moment before weakly responding with a "Hmm." She was lying.

She originally didn’t want to lie but didn’t want to create trouble for herself, so she lied.

On the opposite side, Kinsley looked at the girl coldly handling the call. Without much thought, he knew who was calling. Watching Liam’s concern for Maya, Kinsley thought Liam must be serious and wasn’t treating her as Grace.

After Maya hung up the phone, he thoughtlessly asked, "Was it Liam’s call?"

"Hmm!" She answered indifferently, clearly not wanting to talk more about someone.

"Maya, Liam seems pretty attentive to you. He never showed this much concern for Grace." Kinsley reminded the girl while sipping coffee.

Hearing that Liam cared more for her than Grace, Maya couldn’t help but laugh, saying, "You’re overthinking it, second brother."

Nowadays, regardless of what Liam did, Maya thought it was fake. His concern for her stemmed from his guilt towards Grace, so she didn’t think much of it.

Fifteen minutes later, while the two were dining, suddenly a "bang" sound was heard as a mobile phone was slammed onto the table.

Maya turned her head to look at the phone, only to see a familiar ring on the hand holding the phone. She recognized this ring as their engagement ring.

Seeing the ring, Maya immediately turned her head away, pretending nothing happened and continued eating. Yet, her little heart almost jumped to her throat, forcing her to swallow hard and calm down.

At the dining table, the man, seeing the girl ignoring him, was furious, thinking she had barely been apart from Kinsley for days, yet couldn’t wait to see him.

Even if he knew Maya and Kinsley only discussed work, nothing else, he still felt displeased.

Thus, he angrily threw the phone near Maya’s plate, and with a "whiz," he opened her plate.

This time, Maya raised her head to glance at him. The man looked at her with lazy, indifferent eyes and pushed her toward the couch with his right leg, sitting down rudely.

All of a sudden, the atmosphere became exceedingly awkward. Maya’s earlier lie was easily exposed, and Kinsley couldn’t find a reasonable excuse to defend her.

Thus, he took the blame, saying, "Liam, I asked Maya out."

Listening to her second brother’s defense, Maya took a deep breath, sat up straight, grabbed a menu beside her, tossed it in front of someone, and said coldly, "Order what you want yourself."

Facing Maya’s attempt to change the topic, Liam didn’t pay attention, only looked at Kinsley and sneered, "Second brother, you just got newly married, yet you don’t join your wife for dinner but invite your sister-in-law. Isn’t that inappropriate?"

Listening to someone calling her sister-in-law, Maya cursed him a hundred times in her heart, thinking, truly shameless.

However, Kinsley wasn’t angry, only chuckled mildly, saying, "Nothing inappropriate. Maya and I should’ve been dining at home. Coming to this step, thanks all to your kind effort."

Although Kinsley had a good temper, he wouldn’t let Liam bully him, hearing him bring up marriage made him infuriated, really wanting to abduct Maya.

But he knew clearly that it was impossible for him and Maya. Furthermore, he was now Zoe Smith’s husband. If any scandal between the two were to arise, it wouldn’t be good for anyone.

Listening to Kinsley’s sarcasm and looking at the indifferent girl next to him, Liam was infuriated, thinking this guy wanted to be grounded.

So, he reached out and pinched her thigh hard, making Maya immediately raise her head to look at him.

Following that, shamelessly, he said to Kinsley, "Second brother, if you want to take control of the Spencer Clan Group from grandpa, the person you should be pleasing is me, not Maya."

"Do you have no shame?" Liam’s threat made Maya unable to hold back.

Hearing the girl’s defense, Liam reached out to pat the back of her head, saying, "Eat your meal."

At this point, Kinsley couldn’t hold back either, his sharp eyes staring straight at Liam, fury almost reaching its peak.

Across, Maya saw the situation, immediately stood up pulling, casually also pulled Liam up, saying, "Second brother, I’m full; we’re leaving first."

After saying this, she dragged Liam away first.

In the elevator, Liam looked at the sulking girl, took a deep breath, and stepped closer to her, then clutched her chin, questioning, "Weren’t you dining alone?"

Listening to the man’s question, Maya rolled her eyes at him, opened his hand and said, "What are you to me? I don’t need you to mind my business."

Hearing Maya’s retort, the man held his breath, stared straight into her eyes, and counter-questioned, "You sleep in my arms; you tell me what I am to you?"

Feeling the man’s dominance, Maya swallowed hard, began to show weakness, saying, "It’s just a meal, not going to a... hotel. What are you tensed about?"

Not wanting to argue with him, she compromised.
