Four people stood blocking the path, four beings whose presence weighed on Noah’s spirit, making him instinctively want to kneel. Figures whose sheer aura distorted everything around them.
They’d been fighting A-Rank monsters for a while now, and Noah had gotten used to the feeling of being overmatched. This was far beyond that. Beyond Zax’s aura, even.
Ascendants. It had to be. But that should be impossible. Whole countries only had a single Ascendant. How could there be four here? Or… three, at least.
One towered over the others, a monstrous creature of living crystal that clinked as he moved.
