Chapter 123: Looking for redemption.
Coran’s rage radiated like fire, melting the lingering cold that gripped the room. This was his sister that caused such a catastrophe. The second heir of the Mountain clan. A wolf! A wolf betrayed her Alpha. The pride and honor now was all gone.
Elaika didn’t fight back this time. She didn’t argue. Didn’t curse Ren’s name again.
"You knew I wouldn’t forgive you," Kai said, his voice laced with cold finality. He didn’t even glance back as he turned and strode out of the cell.
Behind him, Elaika broke. A scream tore from her throat, raw and guttural, a sound of pure desperation. But her brother didn’t stop. Didn’t flinch. He didn’t need to see her collapse to know it was done. This wasn’t just about the princess. This was about Thegara, about the lives she had stolen in the name of envy and treason.

The news spread through the castle like a plague, infectious and impossible to contain. Whispers clung to every wall. Shock rooted itself in every heart. Ren... a half-blood Fae. It was nearly unthinkable, but they had no choice but to believe it. Yet even that staggering truth paled in comparison to Elaika’s betrayal. She had murdered her own kin to carry out a cruel scheme against their Luna. Her parents had died protecting Thegara, and now their daughter would be executed as a traitor.
Elaika’s grandparents arrived in the capital within an hour of receiving Coran’s message. Grief carved deep lines into their faces as they pleaded with him to sway the Alpha King’s heart. But Coran’s gaze was distant, locked on the Omega families, his jaw set like stone.
And then he left. Walked away from the castle, from the bloodshed. He didn’t need to witness the execution. What he would do was find the remains of those lost, and see to it their ashes were returned to the heavens with dignity.
Ren stood motionless on the balcony, her heart thundering against her ribs as she watched the castle unravel into chaos. The elders were locked in bitter arguments. Wolf shifters from rival clans hurled accusations, and fists, at one another. The courtyard turned into a battlefield, blood soaking into the stone, until Kai was forced to release a dominant surge of his aura, slamming the packs into submission and their knees.
