The Devil's Son and His Fated Bride

Chapter 124: Send her to the front line to fight.

Going to Ogain’s nest building, she opened the door, and the fledgling immediately left Calisa’s side and rushed to her, dragging his head along her skirt.

"My lovely Ogain! How have you been?"

She had missed him, even though she’d seen him just yesterday evening before leaving for the historians’ tower.

"I’ve been fine. I won against Calisa in speed today."

His voice was so cute. Ren wished others could hear it too, but the bond was only between the two of them, Griffin and the Tamer. Griffins could communicate with their own kind, but this connection was different.

"Come, I have an issue that only you can solve," Ren told him as she strode to the center of the hall.

Calisa bowed before her. "My Queen, I’ve heard about you. I knew you were different." A happy grin tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Oh, dear Calisa. I wish we could talk more, but I need your help too. I want you to change your father’s mind about Elaika’s death sentence."

She glanced at Ogain, who was now the size of a goat. This fledgling was growing fast indeed. Being a royal griffin had its advantages, but she hadn’t found much information about them in the castle library. She doubted there was any in the historians’ tower either, but logic demanded she ask next time.

"What is it? Why is this about Elaika, again? My Queen, please don’t tell me you want to save your very enemy!" Calisa’s voice trembled, distressed like a panicked bird.

"I have to. I can’t kill her for vengeance."
