Chapter 968: Husband and Wife Call
"Uncle Zhuo, don’t worry, I won’t cause trouble for Zhuoyue. However, even though we’re helping Xue’er, Zhuoyue needs to be diligent. Otherwise, you know Jiang Xue’s temperament. If she sends him back, it won’t be good."
Before Mr. Zhuo could speak, Zhuoyue quickly chimed in, "Brother Cheng, don’t worry, I definitely won’t slack off. I’ll make sure to help my sister-in-law do things properly."
"Remember what you said. Here’s Xue’er’s address and contact information. Let me know when you’re leaving, and I’ll give her a call then."
"Thanks, Brother Cheng. I’ll go home to pack now, and I’ll leave tomorrow," Zhuoyue said eagerly, grabbing Jiang Xue’s contact information and hurriedly heading home.
Mr. Zhuo watched and shook his head. His son might be in his twenties, but he’s still so impatient. Looking at Mu Qiancheng, he’s much more composed.
"Qian Cheng, thank you!" Mr. Zhuo said gratefully. He had always wanted Zhuoyue to go out and find something to do.
But since they didn’t know anyone outside, and opportunities in town and county were hard to find, they kept him at home. They thought maybe he should get married and have a child first, at least while they were young enough to help with childcare.
"Uncle Zhuo, it’s no trouble. I’m leaving early tomorrow, so Zhuoyue and I can go to Xu City together. Let him know when you get a chance."
"Alright!" Mr. Zhuo nodded and then didn’t stay any longer, turning to head home. Since Zhuoyue was going away, he needed to have a word with him.
Early the next morning, Zhuoyue arrived at Mu Qiancheng’s house, ready to go to Xu City with him. Seeing how eager he was, Mu Qiancheng found it amusing and asked, "Zhuoyue, did you have breakfast?"
Zhuoyue felt a bit embarrassed by the question, as he hadn’t slept all night thinking about going to Xu City with Mu Qiancheng and earning money outside.
He had gotten up early and, wanting not to keep Mu Qiancheng waiting, skipped breakfast and came straight over.
Seeing this, Mu Qiancheng understood perfectly. He invited him to have breakfast together and left some money for his parents before they headed out.
By the time they reached Xu City, it was already mid-morning. Since the train station was right next to the bus station, Mu Qiancheng didn’t take Zhuoyue home. Instead, he took him to buy a ticket for the next available train.
After buying the train ticket, Mu Qiancheng gave Zhuoyue a few instructions before sending him into the waiting room and heading back home.
The first thing Mu Qiancheng did upon returning home was to send Jiang Xue a message. Initially, he planned to call, but knowing she might be in class and not wanting to disturb her, he sent a message instead.
After sending the message, Mu Qiancheng began packing his luggage, preparing for his trip to Beijing. He’d already bought a train ticket for that night in advance.
Once he finished packing, it was noon, and Mu Qiancheng decided to make a simple lunch. Just then, the phone rang; it was Jiang Xue calling.
"Xue’er, have you eaten?" Mu Qiancheng asked while cooking noodles.
"Just finished class and about to go eat. Have you eaten yet?"
"I’m cooking now."
"By the way, you mentioned Zhuoyue is coming to help me. What’s going on?" Jiang Xue wasn’t very fond of Zhuoyue, so when she saw Mu Qiancheng’s message, she felt a bit upset.
However, after thinking it over, she realized Mu Qiancheng wouldn’t let her down. So she called immediately to ask what was happening and why Mu Qiancheng was sending Zhuoyue to her.
