Chapter 578: Rubbing Salt into the Wound
Before they could reach the shore, the Water Monster’s body emerged and began chasing after the rowboat.
Feeling the movement behind them, the people on the rowboat turned their heads and were shocked to see the Water Monster.

"Quick, row faster, don’t just stand there!" Captain Chen was the first to recover and shouted. Upon hearing Captain Chen’s shout, everyone quickened their pace and rowed toward the shore.
The Water Monster followed closely, and with Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng causing trouble from inside its belly, it became even more furious, quickly chasing the rowboat, ready to unleash its fury on the people on board.
Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng were unaware of the situation outside. After succeeding in their task, they intensified their efforts on the Water Monster’s wound.
"Little Fox, get me some salt from the space." Jiang Xue shouted. She had heard before that applying salt on wounds would hurt more, so she planned to try it on the Water Monster’s wound.
Little Fox, however, did not come out upon hearing Jiang Xue but said, "If you want salt, you come in yourself; I’m not coming out."
Are you kidding? The inside of the Water Monster’s stomach is so dirty and smells so bad, it definitely didn’t want to go out there.
"You?" Jiang Xue opened her mouth wanting to speak to Little Fox, but thinking of Mu Qiancheng beside her, she closed her mouth. Then she said to him, "Qian Cheng, I’m going inside to get something."
"Alright!" Mu Qiancheng nodded, and Jiang Xue went directly into the space. As she entered, Little Fox was already waiting for her with salt in hand.
Seeing the salt in Little Fox’s hand, Jiang Xue smiled and took it, then exited the space.
Back inside the Water Monster’s stomach, Jiang Xue directly applied the salt to the freshly made wound. The belly was already hurting from the injury, and with the salt, the pain was magnified more than tenfold.
The Water Monster chasing the rowboat suddenly leaped up due to the pain, lunging at the rowboat. It was so painful it had to take some down with it, right?
The people on the rowboat saw the Water Monster lunging at them and were terrified, unable to row. The people who had returned to the shore from the small hill were also stunned by this scene and did not react for a long time.
"Quick, think of a way to stop that monster!" Grandma Shangguan suddenly screamed, having already lost one granddaughter and not wanting to lose a grandson as well.

The Water Monster was feeling pleased with itself as the people on the rowboat could not escape and would soon be its meal. But just then, something came rushing for its eye.
This can’t be happening; its eyes were its next weak point after the belly. If it got hurt, the consequences would be unimaginable.
To protect its eyes, the Water Monster had to change its direction and dodge to the side. With this dodge, the people on the rowboat came to their senses, and together they rowed towards the shore.
They were actually not far from the shore, only needing a bit more time to reach it. They hadn’t expected the Water Monster to chase them.
As the rowboat reached the shore, the Water Monster plunged back into the water. Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng felt the movement of the Water Monster, exchanged a glance, and quickened their pace.
