Chapter 577: Can’t Hold On Much Longer
Captain Chen led his team and quickly rowed the kayak to the spot where Jiang Xue had fallen into the water before. Upon arrival, they did not dare to check immediately but first took out some equipment to test whether the vortex was still there.
After confirming there was no problem, they let one of the stronger swimmers dive down.
That person left the kayak, jumped into the water, and began diving toward the lakebed. How could the Water Monster not be aware of the commotion on the lake’s surface? However, it was solely focused on waiting for Jiang Xue to appear and had no time to bother with those people.
While Jiang Xue had no problem hiding in the space, the same couldn’t be said for Mu Qiancheng. As time went on, the lack of oxygen made his chest feel heavy, and his mind grew dizzy.
Feeling he could not last much longer, Mu Qiancheng immediately spoke, "Xue’er, I can’t hold on any longer."
Little Fox heard Mu Qiancheng’s voice and conveyed it to Jiang Xue. As soon as Jiang Xue heard Mu Qiancheng was in trouble, she became anxious. Without thinking much, she prepared to go out.
But, Little Fox stopped her, saying, "Don’t be hasty. Let your man make the first move. This way, the Water Monster will definitely be too distracted to notice you, and you can seize the opportunity to get out."
Jiang Xue thought about it and agreed that Little Fox had a point. So she instructed it to relay her plan to Mu Qiancheng.
Upon hearing Little Fox’s message, Mu Qiancheng immediately took action. Previously, he had already made an incision in the Water Monster’s stomach. He just needed to exert more effort to enlarge the hole, which would severely wound the Water Monster.
Finding the previous wound, Mu Qiancheng was shocked. To his surprise, the wound was already healing.
My God, how does this Water Monster have such an amazing healing ability? While pondering this, Mu Qiancheng addressed Jiang Xue, "Xue’er, this Water Monster can actually heal itself. The previous wound has been repaired. What should we do?"
"No problem, even if it’s healed, the wounded area is still more fragile than the rest," Jiang Xue instructed Little Fox to pass her words over.
On hearing this, Mu Qiancheng found it reasonable, so he took a military stabbing knife and thrust it into the newly healed wound. As Jiang Xue had said, a wound is still a wound; even if healed, it is weaker than other areas.
Just as the Water Monster’s wound had healed, Mu Qiancheng’s attack enraged it. Its pain caused involuntary muscle spasms in its stomach.
When Mu Qiancheng stabbed the knife into the Water Monster’s belly, Jiang Xue flashed out and, following Little Fox’s directions, quickly reunited with Mu Qiancheng.
As soon as they reunited, the two embraced tightly. Jiang Xue kissed Mu Qiancheng’s lips, transferring air to him so he was no longer in such discomfort.
After a moment, Jiang Xue released Mu Qiancheng, and together, the couple—one wielding a military knife and the other a short dagger—stabbed at the Water Monster’s wound.
Another wave of pain overwhelmed the Water Monster, causing it to leap out of the water. In doing so, it created a huge wave that not only tossed the diver in search of Jiang Xue but nearly capsized the kayak.
With the sudden change, Captain Chen didn’t think twice and shouted orders to his team, "Quick, pick up Xiao Wang and get out of here."
Xiao Wang was the comrade who had dived into the water.
"Yes!" Knowing how dangerous it was, everyone responded in unison and rowed toward the now distant Xiao Wang. Startled by the sudden turn of events, Xiao Wang saw his teammates coming to his aid, quickly climbed back into the kayak, and together they rowed swiftly toward the shore.
