Chapter 576: Still Alive?
Thinking this way, the Water Monster had to stop its digestive actions and quietly sense Jiang Xue again. It knew that Jiang Xue wasn’t dead and would definitely appear again.
All it had to do was wait for her to show up. The Water Monster waited patiently. As it quieted down, the waves on the lake slowly subsided, and the lake surface returned to calm.
Shangguan Wenbin watched the lake surface calm down, but there was no joy on his face; his heart felt heavy. If earlier he was sure Jiang Xue was alive, this newfound calmness made him uncertain.
"Boss, the waves are gone. Should we go down and take a look?" One of Captain Chen’s men asked. Before, they didn’t dare make a move because of the waves, but now that they were gone, it seemed safe to go down.
"Alright, let’s go and take a look. Get the inflatable boat out," Captain Chen ordered.
"Boss, using the inflatable boat, isn’t it a speedboat?" The subordinate was puzzled and asked. The inflatable boat required manual rowing, unlike a speedboat.
"Yes, use the inflatable boat," Captain Chen nodded. He had his considerations. He was worried that using a speedboat might startle whatever was in the water, putting everyone at risk.
"Got it," the subordinate replied. In no time, he retrieved an inflatable boat and placed it in the water.
Captain Chen took several men with him, and when Shangguan Wenbin saw this, he said, "Captain Chen, I’m going too."
Captain Chen glanced at Shangguan Wenbin and then at the empty space on the inflatable boat, and did not refuse. So, Shangguan Wenbin went into the water with Captain Chen and his men.
On the small hillside, Bai Yuhua and the others were revived with the help of park staff. They looked at the calm lake surface, their eyes somewhat anxious, as if they were searching for something.
Circle after circle yielded nothing, and their hearts grew worried again.
"Are Xue’er and the others still alive?" Mrs. Jiang watched for a long time, then turned to ask Father Jiang.
"Don’t worry, Xue’er and the others are blessed by heaven, they must still be alive," Father Jiang comforted his wife, although even he couldn’t fully believe his own words.
But Bai Yuhua, upon hearing their conversation, said, "I have a feeling that Xue’er and Qian Cheng are definitely still alive."
A mother’s intuition is strong. If something had happened to Mu Qiancheng, she would surely feel it. Now, she didn’t have the sensation of losing her son, so he must still be alive.
"Really, in-law?" Mrs. Jiang looked at Bai Yuhua with excitement; both her daughter and son-in-law were alive, this was great news.
"Of course, it’s true!" Bai Yuhua affirmed confidently, not knowing where her confidence came from. She just believed her son was still alive.
However, Father Jiang and Mu Siwu were not as optimistic as the two women. They gazed at the calm lake surface, their hearts sinking further and further.
Grandma Shangguan was also very worried. She had seen much of the world. Earlier, the waves in the lake were so large, and later there were whirlpools; there was a high chance that Mu Qiancheng and Jiang Xue had already met with disaster. But she couldn’t voice this, as it would be a blow to both Bai Yuhua and Mrs. Jiang, as well as the Jiang Family couple.
Among everyone’s worries, the only one seemingly unaffected was Little Reunion. Whether when the waves on the lake were towering or now in calmness, he always smiled, as if nothing had happened.
Of course, he couldn’t be blamed. He was still young and didn’t understand danger. Besides, he was blood-related to Jiang Xue and had trained in Spiritual Power, naturally able to sense that Jiang Xue was safe, which allowed him to remain carefree with a smile on his face.
