Chapter 295: His wish
"What did you wish for?" He asked her, his gaze drawn to her. A soft smile lingers on her lips. "I wish to see many more years to come and happiness." It seemed like a simple wish but she knew it meant a lot to her
"How about you?" Abrielle asked, her gaze drawn to him. Her blue eyes met his hazel eyes. He smiled at her, the music resumed, and loud deafening fireworks also flew up to light the sky to accompany the lantern.
Alfonso spoke and her smile slowly fell. She was too stunned.
The sky was lit up with the prettiest colours from several lanterns and fireworks that spread around the sky like stars. The music continued and the cold midnight air was filled with excitement.
Abrielle’s smile fell, it was something beyond her imagination. Despite the loud music and jubilation, a cold silence sang between them.
"I wish my heart wouldn’t ache when I see you with him," Alfonso said, she was stunned and left with no words. What did he mean by that? A weird smile curled up Abrielle’s face at the untimely confession she never expected.
"It’s already midnight and past my bedtime. I think the fireworks were too loud. I barely heard you." Abrielle said with awkwardness. Her eyes trailed from him as she turned to leave.
Alfonso’s heart skipped, he didn’t believe he said something he was not meant to say. A secret that has been eating him up slowly down to his bones. He held her hand, stopping her from leaving.
"Are you just going to walk away?" He asked; deep down, he didn’t know what to expect. Abrielle glanced at his hand on her arm, her throat going dry. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect a love confession from him. A character who wasn’t influenced by the plot, one that was designed to die today because of an affair.
