Chapter 252: Sparkles In Water (Part One)
Bright and sweet rays of sunlight tickled Annalise awake, she crack open one of her eyes to find herself sprawled atop Kenric. Her cheek was resting on his smooth and powerful chest. He was shirtless and very warm, unlike the cold morning wind that was entering the room through the open window.
Her attention shifted to her own naked body that was pressed against the man and her face warmed up as she recalled last night’s activities. Her body still throbbed in delicious memory of their love-making segment.
Stars! She desperately needed to get a hold of her insatiable desire.
Making sure not to wake up Kenric, she slithered off him and climbed out of the bed to get dressed before she headed downstairs and straight to the pool room. Instead of calling for help, she decided to test her powers as she crouched next to the empty pool and opened the water gate to fill the pool.
In the meantime, she searched around the room to collect her favorite essential oils out of several different ones that Sera had purchased over the past couple of months. Once she had selected one of the oils according to her liking, she returned to the pool only to find it completely filled to the very top which made her hurriedly shut the water gate.
She next focused her attention on the water filling the pool as she sat crouching next to it. She took in a deep breath before she closed her eyes and called for her powers which immediately responded, powerful and stronger than ever before.
She started casting the spell to turn the cold water of the pool warm enough for her bath. Considering her close connection with the fire element because of Kenric and the fact that she had spent a lot of her time and attention mastering spells related to fire, it barely took her a couple of seconds to finish the spell.
When she opened her eyes and her gaze landed on the water filling the pool, she almost let out a loud gasp of pure shock after seeing the sight in front of her eyes. Thousands of red, orange, yellow, and golden sparkles were floating on the water’s surface as the spell worked its magic.
She slowly stretched one of her hands toward the water and very attentively she dipped the tips of her fingers into the water only to find its temperature exactly to her liking. A smile bloomed on her lips at the success of her spell.
She hurriedly opened the cork of the little porcelain jar of the essential oil with her free hand before emptying its full content into the pool. With her other hand that was still dipped into the water, she stirred the surface of the water as if it could help in mixing the oil with the water.
A beautiful chuckle escaped her lips when she noticed the sparkly colorful particles following the ripples that her hand’s movements had created in the water.
