Chapter 251: Her New Task
"So you are saying that whoever is behind all these attacks, robberies, kidnapping, and murders... they are the followers of the darkness and doing all this because they want to release the trapped dark energy from the Seelie Realm?" Kenric repeating the summarized form of all that Annalise just told them as he carried a questioning look on his face, it was more of him analyzing the theory on his own and less of suspecting her words which made her feel relieved.
"I’m not really shocked to hear this, to be honest. We always had our doubts about the dark energy being the centre of all this issue but we mainly thought that someone is probably after the light that is still hidden somewhere inside the Seelie Realm. We never thought that it was the other way around." Damien added as he still kept drawing circles on her shoulder, something he probably started fojng unconsciously a little while ago.
There was silence in the study for a while which made Annalise turn her attention toward Valerius who had been silently listening to everything without putting forward his own theories or reasons.
The first dark lord noticed her fixed gaze on him and it finally made him move from where he had been standing against the wall near the fireplace. He headed straight toward the study desk where the rest of them were sitting and took his seat on one of the empty chairs.
"Damien is right, we always have our own suspects. But even though the information that we have received states that they are after the black energy, we can’t completely cancel the idea of light energy being involved in this entire conspiracy. No one in their right mind would let go of the only chance to get their hands on the light even if they are the followers of dark energy."
Annalise completely agreed with Valerius’ words, even though Esme didn’t tell her anything about the involvement of the light energy in this entire scenario, she just couldn’t believe that there was no one out there who was planning to take advantage of this entire situation to find the light energy.
"By the way, Cupcake, can you now tell us where you got all this information from? And what is inside those two rooms on the top floor? I’m dying of curiosity here." Kenric looked at her hopefully while waiting to hear the story.
Annalise opened her mouth to speak but then immediately closed it at the very last moment. She noticed how all three of her husbands were looking at her with expectation filled eyes. Taking in a deep breath, she finally spoke - "I think if I told you about the secrets of this castle and everything else that I have learned recently, it will distract us from our investigation and will waste a lot of our important time. That’s why..."
She paused for a couple of seconds to see each of the three dark lords’ expression before continuing - "... I have decided that I will tell you about all these secrets once we have solved this issue. Alright?"
