Chapter 113: The Creature Attacked
"What is it?" Annalise asked curiously, wanting to know what he was talking about. After all, she really wanted to see the strengths that Damien and Kenric were hiding from her.
So far, she knew that Valerius excelled in spells, and she had an inkling that Damien’s strength and uniqueness were his shadow powers as he was the heir of the shadow, whatever that meant. But as for Kenric, she was still unable to guess what was his actual strong point, though she was sure that he had one.
"I’m not telling you," Kenric responded as he gave her a little wink before turning his attention toward Valerius and Damien as the latter had already finished drawing the rune.
She gave him an unimpressed look but the man no longer paid any attention to her and just kept his attention focused on his brothers.
Damien made his way to where she and Kenric were standing and came to stand beside her while Valerius prepared to cast the spell.
She felt both her husbands reaching out for her hands at the same time and as she looked down at her hands, she found them entangling their fingers with hers as they held her hands in a strong and comforting grip.
She turned her attention back to Valerius as the man started casting the spell. She didn’t miss the immediate change in the air as the magic started taking shape. She found herself closing her eyes as she felt her own powers reacting to his ice powers, they wanted to come out and join him.
She found herself looking at a sea of magical energy behind her closed eyes, it seemed like a never-ending abyss of all types of powers coming together but two particular powers stood out more than others - ice and air.
She knew that the ice powers belonged to Valerius but the powerful presence of air powers surprised her. However, what really surprised her the most was the absence of energy form of her own powers.
She couldn’t find any particular energy responding to her call, instead, they all seemed to respond simultaneously whenever she tugged on her powers. Her power probably didn’t have a special energy because she didn’t really master any particular elemental magic. She was just able to perform some spells with whatever magical ability she held.
A sudden wave of disturbance through the sea of power energies had her pulled out of her thoughts and as she opened her eyes, she was almost blinded by the huge amount of light that was filling the hall.
A loud screeching sound made her turn to her left but she found herself blocked by Damien as the dark lord had a shield of transparent obsidian glass protecting them from their attacker.
