Chapter 112: Words of Power
Valerius and Kenric entered the room and headed toward Damien and Annalise as the youngest dark lord commented on Damien’s confession. "Don’t even dare to think about something like this. I won’t let you snatch away my litter bird."
Unlike his words, his tone was as playful as the look on his face and Annalise heard Damien letting out a small scoff before he took a step away from her but still kept one of his hands wrapped around her waist.
She shook her head while letting out a small sigh as Kenric came to stand right next to her and gave her a huge smile that was filled with warmth, affection, and also a little bit of fun. The man was really full of never-ending energy and he was definitely the funniest among the brothers.
Her eyes then found the last man who completed the circle of her newly married life and found him looking back at her with a soft look in his beautiful blue eyes. She found herself returning his warm smile even without realizing that she was doing it.
Valerius then turned his attention to Damien and spoke, "We should apologize for neglecting something so serious. We were so focused on keeping Annalise company and also on the matter of this Portal Hall issue that we completely forgot about the attention and care that you too needed from your soulmate."
"He’s right. We are really sorry for our ignorance, Damien." Kenric quickly added as the smile disappeared from his face and he appeared quite serious while giving an apologetic look to his second brother. "We should have known better."
Damien nodded his head as if accepting their apologies before he spoke, "Don’t feel too bad. I’m aware of our current situation and I know very well that right now, we don’t have any other option than to continue with our task. Besides, as long as I can have her beside me, I’ll be fine."
He gave Annalise’s waist a little squeeze as he spoke the last sentence and it made her close the litter distance between their bodies before wrapping her hands around him. She was aware that her other two husbands were observing her but didn’t feel either uncomfortable or embarrassed as she hugged Damien in front of Valerius and Kenric.
"I’m sorry too. I know every little about soulmates or soulmate bonds, and I had no idea that you were struggling like this. I should have paid more attention." She also apologized as she felt bad for not realizing just how much Damien needed her.
