Chapter 461: Ibadon’s Power Level
"Tell me everything you know about Ibadon."
When Kael asked this question, the light coming from his third eye intensified. Ryskim felt his mind being forcefully opened.
From the moment he answered the first question correctly, he had subconsciously begun to let down the defensive parameters of his mind, giving Kael the chance to invade with little resistance.
And even though he could feel something worming its way into his mind, the dragon commander could not do anything about it because his subconscious warned him that every question he answered wrongly would be followed by the terrifying burning sensation of his soul on fire.
Of all the ways he had imagined himself dying, he didn’t think it would be due to soul fire. It was something he had never mentally prepared himself for.
But now that Kael had asked another question, he hesitated, afraid to answer. If he didn’t answer, the soul fire would burn again, but if he did, Kael would infiltrate deeper.
As for what would happen once Kael successfully infiltrated his mind. The dragon commander didn’t want to think too much about it.
"Ibadon...he..." The dragon commander said, feeling less inhibited as time passed by.
"He’s the Regent of our Dragon Empire, his rank is second only to the Dragon Empress, but officially, he has more authority and control over the Dragons than the Empress.
However, ever since the Dragon Empress was born, Regent Ibadon has been letting go of the governance.
Before that, he was mostly just trying to keep the Dragon Empire stable and prevent it from imploding on itself.
There are rumors that Ibadon was only keeping the dragon empire upright because he felt guilty for leading us to war many years ago and causing so much damage.
I personally think Ibadon was just keeping us around to help him succeed in his revenge.
There was a time when news came to me that the Dragon Empress and Regent Ibadon had entered a heated argument. The Empress accused the Regent of wanting to throw his life away all to achieve the extinction of the lion race.
According to sources, the Regent did not deny these things, he even reinforced and agreed to them, saying that he could focus on his goal now that the Dragon Empire has a Primordial Dragon leading us.
That was the closest we ever got to hearing about the internal relationship between Empress Elizabeth and Regent Ibadon. We couldn’t know more as the Empress found out about the rumors and ordered the execution of those who propagated them.
Besides that, everyone knows that Ibadon lives and breathes to see the fall of the lion civilization.
There is no question about that.
Apart from acting as a guardian for the dragon race, he rarely does anything these days.
His most recent significant activity was ordering many imperial officials to descend to the universe and manually search each galaxy they came across for the Primordial Lion.
We were instructed to contact him through a Heavenly Gate the moment we found you..."
Ryskim talked. With every telepathic word that came out of his mind, his shoulders relaxed and his muscles became less tense. A melancholic look of struggle and reluctance could be seen on his face.
As Kael listened on and on, he made sure to filter out the most relevant information and those that weren’t.
What Kael needed the most was information on Ibadon’s strength, not his political relevance.
He noticed that Ryskim hardly talked about this and was mostly talking about Ibadon’s deeds in the past few years.
Apart from the rumors between Ibadon and Empress Elizabeth, the other information was things that anyone could get if they asked the right person.
"What about strength? The Dragon Empress and Ibadon, tell me about their strengths," Kael no longer asked, he now ordered.
Ryskim visibly went still when Kael spoke. It was like he was now scared of answering Kael’s questions, afraid that something would happen anytime he answered correctly.
"I...I don’t know," Ryskim responded, avoiding eye contact with Kael as he turned his focus to the undead fortune dragon.
"Hmm," Kael narrowed his eyes.
"AAAAAAAAAARGH!" Ryskim roared at the top of his lungs, shaking the ground with the force of his sound waves.
Silver flames crackled on his body, piercing into his mind and burning his soul.
Kael kept the flames burning at a level where it wouldn’t kill him. For straight thirty seconds, Kael allowed the soul of this dragon commander to burn, indifferently watching him suffer.
Olivia smirked at first but the joy quickly faded with the passage of time.
The silver flames faded away and Ryskim was relieved of the pain. His eyes bulged and his mind was utterly fractured. His soul had burned for a good thirty seconds.
"Tell me about the strengths of Ibadon and Empress Elizabeth," Kael asked again.
Ryskim answered almost immediately, "Empress Elizabeth is at the tier 7 stage. That’s all I know about her power level.
Ibadon is at the famed immortal tier, also known as tier 8 among dragons or lions..."
"You’re lying," Kael said, frowning and leaning forward.
Ryskim shivered, "I’m not! I swear,"
Kael frowned harder, he could sense that Ryskim was not lying.
But that also didn’t make sense.
He had done the measurements in his mind. If tier 6 was country or national level, then tier 7 would probably be continental level.
By that logic, tier 8 is supposed to be planetary level.
That tier 8 was the immortal level was not hard to believe for Kael. But that Ibadon was only planetary level was absolute bullocks.
How?
Ibadon had literally wiped out a whole galaxy at once, that power was far beyond what a planetary being could do.
"Make it make sense," Kael said to the dragon commander.
Ryskim shook his head, "I don’t understand it either. All I know is that even among immortals, some are average, and there a those that are really strong.
There are not a lot of Immortals around and Ibadon is the only person that we have ever done a case study on.
Ibadon wrote it down himself in the grand library of the empire. He said that the best way to understand the immortal tier is to reach it by yourself.
Please, I beg of you, I’m telling the truth. We can’t use normal logic to understand Ibadon’s power level."
Ryskim begged. He felt that it was absurd for anyone to think Ibadon’s power level operated under the conventional terms of mortal reason.
"Hmm," Kael thought more for a moment but there was no way to confirm what the dragon commander was saying.
The only reliable source would be Noel’s and Alan’s memories.
"How long has Empress Elizabeth been alive?" Kael asked.
"About one thousand years old, more or less," Ryskim responded.
"One thousand? And she’s still tier 7?" Kael asked no one in particular.
Hearing this, Ryskim could not help but look at Kael strangely. What did he mean by that?
The average lifespan of anyone in tier 6 was about ten thousand years. That was just for tier 6.
Tier 7 entities could live to seventy thousand or up to one hundred thousand years.
By that standard, Empress Elizabeth was not only extremely talented, she was also very young.
A lot of things had happened before she was born, even the excavation of the ancient ruins had all happened long before she was born.
That she was able to achieve that power level within a thousand years was incredible.
And here Kael was, criticizing her for still being tier 7.
Who could blame Kael? In his eyes, all Primordials had to be talented and ascend the path of evolution as fast as possible.
He himself had only been in this world for nine years or so, and he was already tier 5, touching on tier 6.
Same with Marcus, and Ralph had no choice but to catch up under Kael’s guidance.
Ryskim felt that he had to speak up for his Empress, even though there was no point in doing so for someone in his situation.
"There are rumors that she’s about to enter the immortal tier too..." Ryskim muttered.
"Oh," Kael’s mind blanked.
There was no visible reaction on his face but his heart was thoroughly shaken. If the dragons gained another immortal-tier power house, not just Kael, the whole lion civilization of Kings would be finished.
"What about your allies?" Kael asked another crucial question.
The lion race had a problem with their mentality where they found it hard to ally with any other race. They would usually be trying to make them vassals directly.
Right now, they have no external allies. The dragons didn’t have this problem though.
"We are allied with the Great Bee Hive of Hive Heaven. The Queen of Queens, current Primordial of the Bees, is friends with our Dragon Empress..." Ryskim said solemnly.
Kael took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Beside him, Olivia felt a slight fluctuation in fortune.
There was another player that had yet to show their cards, the Bees, and they were allies with the Dragons.
Kael suddenly had the strong urge to break someone’s skull or smash a table into pieces.
So frustrating.
He sighed.
"And what about these things?" Kael said, then he sent an image into the mind of the dragon commander.
It was an image of the serpentine-like dragon he had seen earlier.
Having received the telepathic message, a deep frown appeared on his scaled face.
"Our wormy cousins..." Ryskim spoke in a deep racist tone filled with disdain.
