Chapter 462: Creation
"Our wormy cousins," Ryskim said with a grim expression.
He recognized the image Kael had sent to him very well. They were the blight of his Dragon Empire and a subject that was not usually talked about with others.
"Also dragons?" Kael asked.
As he spoke, his mind had gone so deep into Ryskim’s thoughts to the point that he could see some images.
Ryskim was not oblivious to this invasion, he knew that Kael was fishing around in his memory space without his permission. But he couldn’t do anything due to the fear of the soul flame.
"They are dragons, yes. We have the same ancestors.
They may look different from us but they share a lot of similarities with us.
While we are dragons of Destruction, they are dragons of Creation."
Kael raised an eyebrow, "Dragons of Creation? As in affiliated with the law of Creation?"
"Yes," Ryskim nodded. He was secretly wondering how Kael knew about them. ’Aren’t they supposed to be hiding?’ he thought to himself.
"That’s impossible, that doesn’t make any sense," Kael said, but he could feel that the dragon commander was not lying.
"Primordial races come from one first Primordial who very likely had to sacrifice themselves to create their races.
Alan was the first Primordial Lion and sacrificed himself to create the lion race." Kael said.
By Primordial races, he was referring to races that had or could have Primordials since not all races had such privilege.
"Your dragon race should have also come from a Primordial ancestor who was affiliated with the law of destruction and sacrificed himself or herself to create your race," Kael said.
Ryskim shook his head, "That’s how it is for others, but not for us dragons.
Our existence was predetermined like the prophecy of a dreaming universe. Creation is nothing without destruction and Destruction is meaningless without creation.
The first dragon wasn’t the Primordial of Destruction nor was it the Primordial of Creation.
The first dragon was a Primordial of something we cannot begin to understand. It was said that his powers were so strange and volatile, giving him power over the formation and shape of everything and everyone.
Some say that the first dragon was an experiment performed by the will of the universe.
But that’s just a rumor as there is no one to confirm such a heretical notion.
Alas, the first dragon didn’t even manage to live long, his power was so great that he imploded on himself.
Whereas other Primordials willingly sacrificed themselves to create their races, ours simply did it by accident.
His unwilling sacrifice led to the creation of the first dragons who were told by other creatures alive at that time the circumstances of our first Primordial’s death as I tell you now.
Another thing was that the dragon race had been split into two species upon their formation. Some looked like us, having wings, and my type of body structure.
The others were serpentine-like like the one you showed me.
By the time the next Primordial Dragon was born, it was discovered that her power was not like the first dragon’s. She was affiliated with the law of Creation and was born among the serpentine-like dragons.
Not long after, we also gained our Primordial Dragon of Destruction, he was magnificent and exactly how they predicted him to be.
This was unprecedented. The first and only race to have two Primordials.
That was how the dragons eventually divided themselves into Destruction Dragons and Creation Dragons."
Kael listened with rapt attention, "So why haven’t they been talked about?"
Ryskim chuckled, "Long ago, long before the events of Ibadon and Sakan. The dragons were already settled in Draconic and leaving together.
Unfortunately, those wormy cousins of ours tried to be authoritarian, acting like they were superior to us. A little bit of racism here and there and civil war erupted.
Destruction Dragons won that war and exiled the Creation Dragons to the very center of the universe.
All their heavenly beacons and advanced technology were seized, leaving them stranded with a few powerhouses..."
"Why weren’t they just wiped out permanently?" Kael asked. To him, the logical thing to do would have been to drive the Creation Dragons to extinction.
"It’s the same reason Ibadon cannot wipe out the lion race," Ryskim said with a provocative sneer.
Kael narrowed his eyes, tempered to burn ye dragon commander’s soul again. But he refrained from it. He already held the life and death of Ryskim in his hands.
His destiny was already decided.
"What do you mean?" Kael asked.
"It’s very hard to achieve extinction on a cosmic scale. Even if you wipe them out in one galaxy, a few low-level creatures of the same species could be living on a small planet billions of light-years away without your knowledge.
It’s not so easy to hunt down and kill one trillion creatures across the universe." Ryskim said solemnly.
"Then how does Ibadon plan to wipe the lion race out? If it’s so hard to achieve, why hasn’t he given up?" Kael tilted his head.
"I don’t know, I guess that it involves capturing you, the Primordial Lion," Ryskim responded truthfully.
Kael leaned back in his chair. He took a deep breath.
Some things were starting to make sense to him but he was also beginning to have more questions.
Hive Heaven, Creation Dragons, Ibadon. Kael understood that he had enemies everywhere he turned.
Most of these enemies didn’t even have issues with him personally, just the lion race as a whole.
This furthered Kael’s resolve about the carnage he was planning on enacting when he goes to Leonine Heaven.
"Uhm, can I ask a question?" Perhaps, Ryskim had not sensed that Kael’s mood was getting worse with each second that passed but he thought it fine to ask for something at this time.
"What?" Kael was a bit irritated.
"Please, where did you see that Creation Dragon that you showed me?" Ryskim asked.
Kael stood up suddenly from his chair, assuming an imposing stance and allowing his aura to pour out.
Olivia took a deep breath.
"One of your colleagues opened a Heavenly Gate to Draconic Heaven. The dead body of that creature was what came out," Kael responded as he walked to Ryskim.
"Oh, " Ryskim nodded. "At least, he tried. So those wormy cousins have invaded heaven.
That’s fine, it’s not like I’ll be alive to witness it..."
As the dragon commander spoke, he closed his eyes, a look of peace and acceptance on his face.
He knew that he was going to die, someone like Kael would not let him live at all.
"One last question," Kael asked as he stood in front of the dragon commander. He looked down at the humanoid with a cold expression.
"The Been Civilization, do I need to know anything about them?" He asked.
Ryskim smiled, knowing what was about to come.
His heart beat rapidly, and he was scared. It was one thing to imagine scenarios where he died, but now that certain death was right in front of him, he was frightened.
He couldn’t calm his beating heart. His heart beat so loud that Kael and Olivia could hear it as it was the sound of his blood rushing through his veins like a violent river.
"Yes," Ryskim said, nodding. His shoulders trembled. He had once been a valiant War Dragon that battled through the galaxies.
To think this was where his story would end.
’Perhaps, I’m not that special...’
"Tell me all you know," Kael ordered.
At the same time, he stretched out his hand and placed his fingers on the head of Ryskim.
His fingers and golden claws felt the cold hard steel-like scales in his head and his hand brushed against the sides of his horns.
*Sigh!*
"The Hive Heaven is where...Aaaah..." Ryskim was saying when he felt a large clump of his memories being extracted.
In his state, his soul acted instinctively for someone of his power level. Memories were being shut off or deleted permanently in droves, preventing Kael from getting much.
But Ryskim had already begun to talk about the Hive Heaven, and his mind had subconsciously pushed the memory he had of the bees to the front.
Kael was able to extract everything Ryskim knew about the bees. But by the time he was done, most of Ryskim’s other memories had been wiped away.
A natural defense mechanism to prevent enemies from discovering valuable information.
If Kael did not have the soul fire, he doubted if he would have been able to force Ryskim to talk.
Seeing that Ryskim was no longer useful to him in this state, Kael’s vertical eye flashed brightly and soul flame burned down.
Ryskim roared, causing the ground to tremble.
This time, Kael allowed the flame to burn longer and hotter. In less than ten seconds, Ryskim’s soul was burned away, leaving only his body.
With the way he was, Kael couldn’t even use him as an undead.
Ryskim’s body slumped to the ground and gradually transformed back to its original true dragon form.
Kael waved his hand casually, causing vines to sprout from the ground and form a strong table. Using his magic powers, he levitated the heavy dragon’s body and placed it on the table.
Kael turned around to look at Olivia who was looking at him. Their eyes jammed. Olivia seemed to be waiting for Kael to say something.
Kael indeed had something to say to Olivia but before that, he summoned the golden screen of the lion system and opened the chat of his number one supporter.
...
Kael: Exalon, prepare yourselves, I’m coming to heaven.
