Chapter 349: A Birthday Gift
Penny flinched and took a step back. Sophia was the first to fall. Her eyes widened and her whole body shaking. The man’s glass had dripped on the ground due to her shock and the liquid had stained the ground.
Penny ran toward the door using the chaos as an excuse but she was stunned when she bumped into a hard wall. Raising her head, she was stunned to see four policemen standing at the door.
"We have been informed there is an assassin in this room." Penny froze on the spit.
"I am only a server here. I do not know what you are talking about." She frowned and took a step back but the men only held her tightly.
"There is a murder inside. Someone mixed poison in the drink." the man shouted loudly alerting the police. They ran in.
Penny tried to run again but the man did not let her go. He held her tightly and pulled her with him.
"What happened here?" he scanned the room and found Sophia on the ground. Nora and Marion were standing there with a pale face.
"This girl!" Marion pointed at Penny the moment the waiter dragged her inside. "She served wine to us. This woman collapsed after drinking it." Penny struggled harder. She was unable to breathe. Her whole body was shaking. Nora was still standing fine while her own mother died!
How did this happen? It was all Nora’s mistake yet she would be blamed if she was caught. She had to run away. She must run away.
