Chapter 98: She Has Connections
"I am. But are you?" the words silenced them. They have never thought police would be involved or they would not have said yes to this strange idea. There was no proof that Nora had cheated except the accusation of two culprits. It was clear they were accusing Nora to save themselves.
But they all had received a good amount and the director had personally called them to support the girls. The offer was too lucrative but now that the case was dragged, they felt unease. Even a blind would notice the flaw. The police would not take an hour to investigate this matter.
Linda and Lisa felt that too. They glared at Nora as if they wanted to kill her with their looks. They were innocent, yet they were accused and they could not prove it.
"Principal Kai, are you letting her ruin the image of your school! You can stop her. As her guardian I will agree to the school’s decision." Sophia smiled with a hidden meaning, easing them.
Even if she called the police, if her guardian refused, Noa could not force the police since she was still a minor. With her family trying to frame her, who could save her?
"Fine! If you all think so." but Nora still shrugged, surprising them. A few believe that she was a fool but a few of them felt dread too. The confidence she was showing could not belong to a fool. She must have a solution.
"Nora!" even her aunt felt something was off. But it was too late. Nora had already called a number.
"Hello, Mr West from Duncan Heights!" Everyone was stunned again. Sophia was first to come out of her stupor. She hastily pulled the phone from Nora’s clasp and stared at it as if it was an explosive.
"If you pressurize me with your power, then i will see how you could stop pressing from your power too?" they could oppress the press except Duncan Heights. This bloody newspaper and magazine were the only reason that their family was suffering so much.
