Chapter 92: Payment With Interest
Alex’s eyes bore holes in her. There was something strange the way she looked at that man.
"I do not want to marry at such a young age. I want to be strong myself. And he is almost twice my age." She was close to eighteen while the man was already twenty eight. Though age did not matter when it comes to love, there was no love between them. Alex was still not satisfied with the answer. He knew something was wrong but looking at her pale face and sweat covered body, he did not continue.
He stood up and started the karaoke again. Then he held her hand and pulled her toward the mike.
"Since you are already here, come sing with me." He held her by her waist. She blinked and looked at the mike in her hands he had slipped.
The music was already filling the room. The words had started to appear on the screen.
"You are my destiny but.." his enchanting voice filled the room. Somehow her mind started to drift away. Benard’s image was fading in her memories. Those memories looked too distant.
When did she start singing? She shook her head when the song changed. He was changing again and again playing all the strange songs. From romance to comedy, from comedy to tragedy, the songs changed.
Their voices filled the room and she sighed when it finally ended. But then another strange sound filled the room. He blinked and then looked at her with a startled face.
"I am hungry." She sighed. From the amusement park to this karaoke. She had exhausted herself too much. Now she was tired and hungry. So she thickened her skin and blamed her growling to him.
