Chapter 64 - 63 The Seer’s Nightmare
Klaus stood frozen, his expression unreadable as Olivia’s ultimatum hung in the air.
Silence.
Then, he exhaled, long and slow. "Fine," he muttered. "Half-girlfriend it is."
Olivia blinked, slightly taken aback. She expected more resistance, maybe even another threat. But the look in Klaus’ eyes wasn’t cold—it was calculated. A quiet agreement to a war neither of them wanted to win just yet.
"You’re smart," he said with a wry smile. "Smart and dangerous... just how I like it."
She didn’t respond. Her expression remained blank, but her clenched jaw betrayed her tension. They both knew this wasn’t a win. It was survival.
Klaus stepped back, letting go of her wrist. "But remember, Olivia," he added, voice low, "I don’t share. You might be my half-girlfriend now, but if I ever see you in that guy’s arms again..."
"You’ll what?" Olivia cut him off, her tone icy. "Get in line. There are worse monsters in this place than you, Klaus."
The tension between them was a coiled wire, ready to snap. But Klaus didn’t push further. He simply smirked, turned, and walked away.
The moment he was gone, Olivia exhaled sharply, like she’d been holding her breath the entire time. Her knees wobbled, but she forced herself to stand tall. The system’s warning still flashed faintly at the corner of her vision—55 hours.
The mission still loomed like a dagger over her head.
