Silence ensued. It was so thick that a knife could cut through it. Everyone was taken aback by the incident.
"Pervert." Olivia muttered under her breath.
"Pervert." The word echoed in her ears.
’Pervert? Why does the word sound so familiar?’ she wondered, but she quickly shoved the feeling down her mind.
Lucian stood there, his breath still uneven, heart pounding from the whirlwind of emotions. Olivia’s fist had left a dull ache on his cheek, but it wasn’t the pain that hurt the most. It was the way she looked at him afterward—confused, distant... betrayed.
"Olivia..." he stepped forward, voice low.

She stormed off, her boots thudding against the marble hallway, leaving Lucian frozen in place, hurt and confused. He didn’t understand what had gone wrong. He never meant to overstep... never meant to lose control.
A low chuckle sounded from behind him.
Klaus.
"Well, that was pathetic," Klaus sneered, stepping into the space Olivia had just vacated. "You thought one kiss would change everything? You really don’t know her."
