Chapter 267: Something’s wrong with me
A loud shriek came out of Fil as she covered her mouth. Her eyes instantly went wide and, for a second, everything around the vicinity went morbidly quiet.
All the people in the restaurant turned to the crashing sound and were stupefied by what they had witnessed.
"Get... get some help..." someone stuttered as if fighting his mind from going blank. "Help! Someone was hit outside! Ambulance! Call for an ambulance!"
The man’s frantic shouting snapped everyone back to their senses. Some rushed outside to see the situation. Others didn’t have that much courage. And there were those, just like Fil, who were frozen on their spot.
Fil’s widened eyes shook as she fixed them on the body lying in the middle of the road. Michael’s body flew away upon colliding with the truck, but the truck didn’t even stop and just sped away.
"No," she blurted out, panicking.
Fil quickly rushed outside, her mind completely denying everything. Even though Michael saw her as he crossed the street and even waved at her, she denied it was him.
The man might just be a look-alike, she thought.
That person wasn’t her friend. It wasn’t Michael. He wasn’t...
Fil ran to the crowd that was surrounding the body. She heard someone say he was a doctor, but others were just there to pry as if this were a show. Fil ignored all of that as she approached.
The closer she was, the louder her heartbeat was. The second she saw the face covered with blood and his twisted arms and legs, her heart immediately dropped to her stomach.
