Chapter 266: Meeting a friend
"As I was saying, can you do it?"
Quentin’s cold breath caressed the shell of Marcus’s ears.
Marcus’s heart thudded. This time, he was frightened. The fear crawling into his heart was something he never felt before.
Marcus couldn’t even breathe for a second, his eyes wide with the brutality this man had caused on Butler Frank’s body. He could even see Butler Frank’s missing heart because the hole in his chest was big enough for anyone to see something was missing.
"If I say yes..." Marcus blurted out in a flat tone, slowly turning his head to Quentin. "... will you clean up... this mess?"
The corner of Quentin’s lips curled up in satisfaction. "That’s easy."
"Hiding their bodies is not what I meant." Marcus’s voice shook, knowing the situation he would be in if the bodies in his villas weren’t cleaned up. "These people have families and they know they work for me. Everyone would find it strange if I suddenly changed all the workers here while the ones I fired went missing."
"And I say that’s not a problem." Quentin’s eyes narrowed as he smiled. "Do we have a deal, Mr. Arkwright?"
Marcus looked away and set his eyes on Butler Frank. He felt trapped. The way Butler Frank’s chest was hollowed out told him whoever did this was not human.
He was skeptical about it as such mysteries only happened in fantasies. But to see was to believe.
Marcus clasped his hands into a tight fist until his knuckles turned white. "What are you?"
