The Devil's Good Girl

Chapter 261: Isn’t she an orphan?

Marcus quietly sat behind the wide desk. He was holding his hands in front of him, deep in thought.

In front of him was a computer with the article and comments on the screen. Every second, a new comment would rise. But the dummy account was already at the top of the comments because of the likes and engagement it received.

"Who..." he muttered, eyes glinting malevolently. "... this can’t be."

Marcus clenched his teeth and took out his phone, sending a quick message to two people. After he sent it, he closed the tab and called it a day. He couldn’t focus on his work ever since this news reached him. There was no use for him to stay overtime since it wouldn’t change the fact Michael held a big chunk of the company shares.

When his message reached the two people Marcus contacted, they quickly went to a bar he mentioned.

An hour later, Marcus reached the private VIP room on the second floor of the nightclub. When he arrived, Shanaiah and Vincent were already there. His expression turned sour the second he met Vincent’s eyes. It was the same for Vincent.

"Marcus, are you trying to make peace with Vincent?" Shanaiah happily clapped. "If so, then I’ll happily be the witness. This is nice, like the good old times."

Vincent hissed. "There’s nothing good about the old times."

Until now, Marcus and Vincent hadn’t spoken a word to each other. Both of them were prideful individuals. Just a simple apology wouldn’t fix a problem as big as the one they had. Moreover, because of their fight, it put them in a tight situation.
