Chapter 262: Do you need help?
"And don’t you ever mention that name again. As long as we three keep a tight lip, no one will ever find out. If you do, the three of us will end up in jail. We’ve always been in the same boat ever since that day. So, don’t you ever accuse me again of such nonsense because if I wanted to talk, I would’ve done it long ago."
Having said that, Shanaiah stormed off.
Marcus and Vincent stayed in their seats with a grim expression. Both men were deep in thought and they didn’t notice the time passing.
"I still don’t forgive you." After what felt like forever, Vincent spoke. "I don’t care if you fuck all the women in the world, just not mine."
Marcus snorted as he looked up at him. "Vincent, I pursued Fil after you broke up."
"And that only means you’ve been eyeing her while we’re together!" Vincent argued, hissing. "You, of all people, knew how much she means to me."
"If she means that much to you, you shouldn’t have fucked her friend." Marcus felt this indescribable anger rising in his chest. "If you didn’t mess things up, you’d still be together. And I’m sure I wouldn’t even bat her an eye, but you screwed up."
It wouldn’t be a stretch to say it was all Vincent’s fault. If not for his affair, he wouldn’t be so paranoid and screw things up. Marcus wouldn’t have to try to console Fil and fall for her beauty.
It wasn’t like Marcus didn’t fight his feelings. However, knowing what Vincent was doing behind Fil gave him more reason to pursue her. Fil deserved better, and Marcus could treat her right. After all, he loved her. Even now, he wanted to pursue her, if not for the fact Michael was keeping him busy.
Marcus and Vincent glared at each other. They felt like throwing their fist again, thinking the other one was too stubborn. However, with the matters at hand, they restrained their primal instincts.
"Whatever." Vincent waved indifferently. "Right now, we need to call it a truce."
