Chapter 260: Bad for the business
[ARKWRIGHT CORPORATION]
Michael stood in the elevator alone when it dinged and stopped midway. Snapping his eyes at the parting door, the corner of his lips curled up.
There, standing outside, was Marcus. He sneered the moment he saw the person inside the lift.
"Getting in, Director Arkwright?" Michael tilted his head a little. "If not, I’ll go then."
Marcus’s eyes sizzled with coldness, but he still got into the lift. Not joining Michael would be akin to a wounded puppy trying to run away from a beast. He would rather swallow sharing the same air with him than hurt his already injured ego.
As the door closed, a thick silence instantly enveloped the lift.
Sliding his eyes to the corner, Marcus mentally clicked his tongue.
A few months ago, the Arkwright Corporation faced a crisis that could make the entire company crumble to nothing. This happened weeks after Marcus faced public criticism for the leaked clip of him and Vincent fighting.
At that time, the company needed a lot of funding, but no investors wanted to associate themselves with them. The excuse they used was because of Marcus’s violent actions from the leaked video of his brawl. He thought things would be over until one international investment company offered them help. Desperate, Marcus’s family accepted their terms even though they were a total rip-off.
But the day the new shareholder was announced, Michael was the one who came.
It didn’t take long for Marcus to put all the pieces together.
