"Still, I have stated that I want to court her and you looked at me like I was a fool. Now you turn around and have feelings for the woman I already made a claim over," Logan said.
He expected this from many of the knights, but not Rafael. Rafael was supposed to be the one with integrity. The one he could trust to never betray him.
"A seat in my carriage you might be able to claim. A seat at dinner you can claim. So as with a shirt you wish to buy, but when it comes to Annalise, you cannot just claim her. Would it have been better that I lied to your face and denied liking her? That would only hurt you later on," Rafael replied.
"A moment ago you said that there is still trust for now and now you are claiming to like her," Logan said, not understanding how there could be so much change in so little time.
"I was in denial at first, but after our little sparring match, it is pointless to deny it. I have better things to do than stand here and let you try convincing me to change what I feel. I cannot control the feelings I have and ou won’t be able to change them. Besides, you should stop bothering her before she uses one of these wooden swords on you," Rafael said, inspecting Annalise’s sword which had a long crack in the middle.
There was much to learn about her family and her father who trained her. It was smart of him to train his daughter to be able to protect herself somewhere she was familiar with. She came with her brother but she spent most of her days away from him. There were jobs here her brother could have taken to be near her.
Rafael wondered if they both came looking for jobs here, but her brother was turned away.
Logan was not in need of Rafael’s advice when it came to how he courted Annalise. Where was this about him being a bother when they had a conversation a while back about his intentions with Annalise?
"Now that you like her, all of a sudden I am bothering her?" Logan questioned. His anger slowly washed away and he was humoured by the fact that he liked the same woman as Rafael.
