LEGEND OF THE GOLDEN TIGRESS

Chapter 375: The Apology

Ten days passed since Chenglei went to the East and Xing was reading the letter he sent to her. He had mentioned about the drug that is colourless and odourless and is not identifiable once it is mixed in a liquid.

The drug had opioid qualities and the users had some kind of out - of - body experience and it was extremely addictive that even one use makes the user a slave for the drug.

Chenglei mentioned that a farmer salted his entire two acres of fertile field because he was "told to do so if he wanted more of that drug" by the dealers. There were increased rate of murders and robberies since those addicts were doing it to be able to afford the drug.

All in all that drug seemed to be extremely dangerous and it seemed it was used as a form of warfare in Xing’s opinion.

Is the Fire Kingdom and Prince of Kang really responsible for this? Are they Proclaiming war on us?

Xing took a walk in the mountain to prepare for some emergency medicines to store. She’d made it a habit to keep medicines in her store ever since one of her maid died by poisoning back in the inner palace.

She also went to her home back in the village through the mountains and got the single feather of the white peacock she had. That was part of the Heavenly Emperor and that itself is the most valuable and unattainable medicine there is, as heard from many low level gods in the past.

When she took out the box she kept the feather was in, she was surprised to see that it had gotten reduced to a fine white powder. She was glad that it saved the efforts on her behalf to figure out how to use that feather as a medicine.

Xing took a look at the drawer in her room where she’d stored the notes Chenglei left for her previously when she came here with her father. The writings had faded a bit but still she kept it as safe as she could. These are the proof of how much he loved her before and she didn’t want that to disappear. She’d never want them to disappear from her mind or from her life.

She also wanted to take a look at the sewing pouch of her mother but she still couldn’t figure out why that drawer was stuck. Not willing to ruin the drawer, she left it as it was.

Before the Oldman Zhong passed away, he had given her a map to the place of burial of Chenglei’s mother. Apparently the Zhong army were the ones who cleaned up after the assassination attempt on the third prince that day Xing and Chenglei met. But even though they searched everywhere, they couldn’t find the third Prince.

"Oh, Brat! So you were the one hiding him!", the Oldman smacked her in the back laughing that day and gave her the map. Chenglei was with Shihong when he gave her that map and Xing’s plan of giving that to him after Shihong was defeated got spoiled.
