Chapter 318: Could She Let Him Go?
The Emperor got to his brother and tried to get the dagger from his hands and Haru wrapped his arms around Xing’s neck, hugging her from behind,
"Xing! Enough", his throat closed to see his friend in such an awful state. "Brother...", Haru could not even speak his name because he was that displeased about his brother whom he trusted explicitly till now. But no one gets to hurt his stupid friend, even if it is him.
"Haru.. He... Why?", Xing still holding in to Chenglei’s clothes till her knuckles were white and she leaned on Chenglei’s leg as she couldn’t still get a clear idea what happened. Her brain long stopped working because if it did, she wouldn’t be kneeling and begging in front of him as he hated it. If her brain worked properly, she’d have figured out the need for Zhu Rong’s presence there and would have killed her then and there.
"Xing... Let him go!", Haru tried to pry her hands away from Chenglei’s clothes but she didn’t let him go.
Her hands felt like ice when he touched it and hugging her made Haru realise that she was trembling. A little of her shoulders were exposed by the cut made by Chenglei before.
Haru removed his overcoat and wrapped it around Xing to at least warm her a bit.
"Xing, he kissed that god! For your life!", he whispered in her ears that were cold to touch.
"Kissed..?", she repeated. Kissed a god? He made a deal? Xing felt a jolt of lighting pass through her body.
So that’s what happened?
"Yes! I swear he did it, ", Haru hugged her close. He’d never let her demean herself to this extent. Especially for the one who was willing to do make her beg.
When that god asked him for her memories in exchange for her life, he just agreed... Just like that!
