LEGEND OF THE GOLDEN TIGRESS

Chapter 319: Lady Hur

In the vast sea of golden sand burning under the fiery glaze of the sun, a land devastated by war and was neglected by the ones who won the war afterwards, a small group of people were standing outside a tent waiting for their revered Lady Hur to appear. She is said to be the harbinger of good luck and she’s been involving in the relief works in their kingdom destroyed by war.

Inside that moderately large tent, a woman was tying her waist long jet black hair to a simple bun with her beautiful, slender fingers that were calloused completely inconsistent with her flawless beauty that would make anyone fall for her instantly, when her maid by her side felt bad for letting her lady do all the work by herself. She never understood why her lady is not treating her like a maid.

"Milady! You always forget I’m a maid! ", the little chubby girl who was just eighteen that year pouted her red soft lips. Her chubby cheeks were blushed by the heat seeping in and her hands tried to grab the comb.

"And Xiao Mei always forgets I’m not a lady", her mistress spoke in her husky voice and the golden eyes reflected on the mirror in front of her was filled with mirth that made Xiao Mei pout some more.

"Milady!", she whined as her mistress chuckled sweetly at the childish one in front of her and pinched her cheek after she fixed her bun with a simple jade hairpin. Except for the jade bracelet she wears occasionally and the ring she wore always, she didn’t have a single piece of jewellery on her.

"Get me the veil", she asked her and Xiao Mei gave her the soft black silk scarf that she tied around her hair and also covered her face leaving only her eyes visible. The harsh sun didn’t suit her pearl white skin and she followed the tradition of the natives of this place and covered herself whenever she went out.

In a moment, her alluring face was covered as she fixed her simple looking yet expensive crimson robes meant for men but with the exquisite curves in her body apparent, no one were left to misunderstand her as a man. She just felt more comfortable in men’s clothes especially in this weather.

"Lady Hur"

The people of the village greeted her as she came out of the tent.

"We all are waiting for you to choose the place we should dig for the well, Lady Hur. Please...!", the elder in the group lead the one they exalted as a fortunate one.
