Chenglei walked towards Shihong entirely covering Xing from his view, "Little Hong!", he called him endearingly that surprised Xing.
Wow! This guy can act!
"Give me Old Rong! I’ll keep him safe!", he said in a soothing tone but only Xing could hear the coldness in his voice.
Xing could not see Shihong’s reaction but she could feel Chenglei’s stressed back. He was still holding the lancet he used to try and scare her but Xing saw his grip was right with his knuckles protruding and ready to attack anytime.
"You trust me, right?", his mellow voice that could melt hearts reverberated, since Shihong was hesitating.
Shihong knew his wolf is being nice to him in the past couple of months but he still could sense a little distance between them and he still did not fall in love with him. He knew it was because he is not a woman... If only I were a woman, my wolf would have fallen for me! But still... I cannot give up!
"I trust you!", Shihong wrapped his arms around Chenglei’s arms and turned him to face Xing with him standing by his side, "See, he is MY wolf!".
