Chapter 71: HOUSE TOUR
IT WAS, indeed, a large mansion.
Wonhee was surprised that Yejun didn’t use the main building, though.
Yejun turned the annex building into his luxury apartment.
The first floor was a training hall.
Yejun didn’t bring her inside because, apparently, he hadn’t fixed it yet.
"That was where I spent most of my time while I was still "drunk,"" Yejun said while they were walking in the hallway leading to the next room that he wanted to show her. "Even though I was in that state before, I still managed to use my head. I broke all the cameras and the recording devices in the basement where APA locked me up under the guise of "rehabilitation.""
Oh.
[He’s talking about his days as a "deranged" X-Class Hunter.]
"Then I would enter the Dragon’s Lair and spend most of my time here," Yejun continued with his story. "I would only come out every time it was time for APA to bring a Guide to me."
"Do you think APA brought those Guides to you to help you get better?"
"Of course not," he said, scoffing. "APA just wanted to test the abilities of the Guides that they awakened using drugs. They banked on their assumption that I was out of my mind. Unfortunately for them, I still could tell whether a Guide was a naturally Awakened Person or not."
"I hope we gather enough evidence soon to destroy APA."
"It won’t be easy because powerful people are backing up Kwon Jiwoong, but don’t lose hope. We may be moving slowly, but I’m sure we’ll be able to catch them by the neck soon."
She just nodded in agreement.
"We’re here," Yejun said while pushing the door of the next room he wanted to brag about. "This is the weaponry-slash-potion storage room."
Oho?
[That reminds me of Soobin Oppa and Semi Unnie.]
Wonhee gasped when she entered the weaponry-slash-potion storage room.
All the weapons that she could imagine were there.
Moreover, there were at least ten shelves of potions on the other side of the room.
"Yejun-ah, are you planning a revolt against the government or what?" Wonhee asked in disbelief. "You hid all of these from APA?!"
"I just didn’t feel the need to tell them about the rewards that I got from clearing the dungeons that almost killed me."
"Awakened People are allowed to keep their rewards, but they must report the value of the things they earn for tax purposes..."
As a person who had received an award for paying her taxes right, this was a little...
"Me and my guild pay hefty taxes," Yejun said defensively. "Just so you know, the Big 4 always pays double of whatever we owe to the government."
"Double?"
"Yep, double. And since you’re a naturally awakened S-Class Guide, then I’d like to welcome you to our tax bracket."
Oh.
[I should contact my accountant soon.]
"I’m not saying that what you’re doing is wrong, but I understand why you’d want to... uhm, keep an extra allowance?"
Yejun laughed out loud. "That’s a nice way of saying slush fund, Wonhee-ya."
"It’s only a slush fund if you use your money for illegal activities," Wonhee said defensively. "Are you?"
"No, I’m not using them for illegal activities. I just don’t want to give the government more money because I know my money is only making the corrupt officials richer. But that doesn’t mean I’m not giving back to the society or helping the less privileged."
Oh.
She could tell that Yejun was being sincere.
"Then why do you call it a slush fund?"
Yejun shrugged. "What I’m doing is still bad and illegal."
Right.
But Wonhee was flexible.
[I can see beyond black and white.]
"As long as you don’t use your extra allowance on bad things, then I won’t report you."
"You can’t report me since you’re already my accomplice, Wonhee-ya," Yejun said teasingly. "You’re now an accessory to the crime– my crime, to be precise."
Wonhee gasped, then she hit Yejun on the shoulder. "Yah!"
***
PFFT.
Wonhee couldn’t help but laugh while looking at the clothes stored in Yejun’s walk-in closet. "You didn’t lie when you said you have hundreds of black turtleneck shirts, Yejun-ah."
Even his trousers, pants, and shoes were all similar to one another.
[But Yejun has a nice collection of classic watches.]
"Did you think I lied?" Yejun asked, obviously in a teasing manner. "I was also being serious when I said I’d give you some of my shirts." He paused for a moment, then he pointed at the small cabinet in the corner. "I think my clothes from when I was seventeen or eighteen are kept there. I’m sure they’ll fit you."
"I’m not that petite, Yejun-ah."
"Then should I just sew new clothes for you?"
"You can sew?"
Yejun nodded, then he ushered Wonhee to the secret room hidden behind his walk-in closet.
Wow.
Wonhee thought she entered the room of a fashion designer.
There was a sewing machine there, and yards and yards of different fabrics. Everything someone who made clothes was there.
She even saw a sketchbook on the table filled with pretty sketches of clothes.
"Yejun-ah, you make your own clothes?"
"Sometimes. It’s just my hobby, though," Yejun said, then he pointed at the fabrics on the long table. "Don’t touch those fabrics. Those are materials that came from the dungeon, so they might be dangerous for you to touch. I was stuck in the basement for a year and I haven’t had the time to treat them yet."
"You’re amazing, Yejun-ah."
"Because I make clothes as a hobby?"
"Yes. It’s amazing. I can’t even do crochet, so I’m jealous."
"Crochet? Then should I teach you?"
"You also know how to crochet?"
"Yep. Crochet and knitting, to be precise," Yejun said, then he looked around as if he was looking for something. "Let me just find the yarns."
Wonhee covered her mouth when she gasped.
[Yejun is so cool!]

"H-HYUNG!"
Yool, who was still half-asleep, was forced to get up when he heard Ahyeon’s voice. "Is there a fire, Ahyeonnie?"
Ahyeon sat on the bed and shook Yool by the shoulders. "No, but you were invited to the 10th Floor!"
"The 10th Floor... what is that?"
"It’s the top floor of the Nom Nom Restaurant that only opens for the Big 4!"
Yool rubbed his sleepy eyes with the back of his hand. "I’m not one of the Big 4, Ahyeonnie."
"Yes, but the Big 4 members are allowed to bring a +1 every time they dine in," Ahyeon explained. Thankfully, the brat finally stopped shaking his shoulders. "That’s why the 10th Floor only has four tables for two."
Fuck.
"So, who invited me? Was it Graham?"
"No, Hyung!" Ahyeon said while shaking his head firmly. "It was S-Song M-Moonho-nim, and he said it’s a d-date!"
Yool shut his eyes tight. "Is that ahjussi high on drugs?"

A CERTAIN representative was breaking out in a cold sweat.
The tenants that were renting out his client’s house refused to leave until they met the landlord.
And that landlord was the precious Miss Chu Wonhee.
[Why does Lee Seodam-ssi’s mother want to meet Miss Chu when it was her son who dumped our young miss?]
