Chapter 50: Saved

My heartbeat instantly kicked up and I literally stopped breathing. Prince Zade’s grip on my arm tightened as he held the crowned Prince’s gaze. I looked between them, unsure of what to think or say, but when my eyes locked with the crown prince’s eyes this time, something flashed across his face and he stalked into the room, coming straight at the bed.
"Get off him right now." The crown prince breathed out in a low, clenched voice and I felt my heart stumble around in my chest.
I wasn’t sure of what I had expected, but it wasn’t for the Prince to speak to his cousin this way, in such an anger filled voice. By all what Zade said about wanting to ruin me in order to teach the prince a lesson, I had assumed that they weren’t on good terms, but witnessing it was another thing.
Prince Zade scoffed, his grip tightening on my arms. I could feel the bite in my throat still bleeding, tears were still rolling down my face and pain was still flowing through every inch of my body from that bite.
"Why should I listen to you? Last I checked, you don’t control me, dear cousin."
He tightened his hold on me to pass his message across. "And again, this little thing is just a human slave, and the slaves here can be used by anyone that sees fit, none is excempted." He drawled, a grin tugging at the side of his lips.
"And you can’t hurt me even if you want to, you know you won’t want to anger your father, and hurting me would definitely enrage him because the next in line for the throne after you, is me."
The crowned prince didn’t react to all that Prince Zade had just said. Infact; his eyes never left my face for a second throughout the long minutes. He kept staring at me with those intense looking eyes and I started to feel weird all over.
"I’ll not say this again, Zade. Get off him." The crowned prince said once again, voice still not giving much away.
