Chapter 51: Act of Blood stopping

The room was dark, and I couldn’t see a thing, which made me grow more nervous. When I felt myself get settled in a soft bed that smelt so much of the prince, I bit on my bottom lip and reached out to grab his arm before he could fully move away.
He stiffened before his voice slowly filled the room. "I’m not going anywhere, I’m only going to turn the lights on."
My cheeks grew pink as I nodded and let go of his arm, then I fidgeted till bright lights flooded the entire room. I blinked as I let my eyes wander around. It feels like it’s been ages since I was here last but it’s only been two days ago. I hadn’t realized how much I had missed this room and the sight of the Prince till this very moment.
He came to crouch at the side of the bed in the next moment and I felt my stomach go into knots again.
"Are you alright?" He asked, voice low and almost soothing. I sniffled and wiped a hand over my wet cheeks as I nodded
"Thank you for saving me." I whispered while he frowned before he leaned over me in the next moment. I was so startled that I inched backward as well, but it didn’t make much difference because he just followed suit till there was barely any gap between us.
"You don’t seem fine." He stated quietly, then a hand came up to snag my chin when I made to avert my gaze. He left my chin and moved up to thumb at the tear track on my cheek.
"My cousin hurt you, did he not?"
I swallowed emptily and nodded jerkily, feeling my eyes start to well up with tears again.
