Henry frowned, confused. "Why are you interested in helping him?" he asked, trying to understand Dylan’s motive. "You’ve always despised the Bakers. As far as I know, you resent anyone connected to them. So why do you want me to take this case? Besides, no one from Nicholas’s side has reached out to me. I can’t just step in without a reason."
"Don’t worry about that," Dylan assured him. "I guarantee someone from his side will contact you soon. And I’m doing this because of my personal interest, to end the rivalry between the two families."
Henry fell dead silent, seemingly dumbfounded.
"The Bakers want to get rid of the illegitimate son," he stated coldly. "They are planning to eliminate Nicholas during his surgery. If I expose this to him, he’ll ensure the Bakers suffer the worst consequences imaginable. He won’t spare a single person who plotted against him. And most importantly..."
Dylan’s lips curled into a knowing smirk. "Nicholas will never forget this favor. He’ll owe me—forever."
"Smart move," Henry admitted, impressed. "If that’s the case, I’m in."

Ava stepped into the house, the weight of the day still lingering on her shoulders. The moment she walked in, Dylan greeted her with a warm smile and wheeled himself toward her.
"You’re back." He reached for her bag, just like she used to do for him in the past. "How was the day?"
