Chapter 284: The victory
Ava gestured toward the seat beside her. "Please, have a seat."
As Miss Bell took her seat, Ava also sat down and looked at the people around the table, only to find them gaping at her. Their doubt, their defiance—it had all been crushed in an instant.
A slow, knowing smile curled on her lips.
Finally, she broke the silence. "It’s an honor to have you here for my first meeting as president," Ava said with newfound authority. "I trust that our partnership will continue to thrive."
"Of course, we will," Miss Bell joined.
Ava leaned back slightly, basking in the shift of power that had just taken place.
Everyone gasped in confusion, murmuring with each other. Ethan, on the other hand, struggled to mask his growing panic. His carefully laid plans were crumbling before him.
Ava smiled. "It seems some rumors have been circulating." Her voice cut through the murmurs. "There have been claims that Starlite intends to sever ties with our company if I assume the presidency."
"What nonsense," Miss Bell snapped. "Why would I do that?"
She folded her hands on the table and continued, "Thomas and I have been friends for years. When he founded this company, my father personally signed a partnership deal with him. Since then, our companies have worked together, strengthening each other."
Her lips curled into a wry smile. "I have no intention of breaking that bond—not now, not ever."
