Chapter 176
The group stood before the Town Hall’s gate, wide open and seemingly inviting them in. They exchanged wary glances, before stepping into the dimly lit interior.
As they made their way in, a figure suddenly appeared atop a broken-down bus blocking the road ahead. He was intimidating—a well-built man with an air of confidence, his muscular form highlighted by the long steel pipe resting casually on his shoulder. His tall stature and rough, bandit-like appearance confirmed their suspicions; this was Norton, one of Levi’s subordinates that Remillia had warned them about.
He cleared his throat. "This place is off-limits to kids," He announced, his voice dripping with disdain as he surveyed the group. His expression turned into a smirk, clearly enjoying the fear he could wield over them.
"Looks like we’ve just found the welcoming committee," Edge muttered under his breath, tension crackling in the air.
Moments later, several other men appeared, armed and ready for battle.
Cypher took a deep breath, staying perfectly calm despite the escalating situation. "You’re Morton?"
"Haha, a kid shouldn’t talk to adults like that," Morton shot back, his condescending tone quickly growing tiresome.
Edge stepped forward, clearly losing his patience and pointed his spear directly at Morton. "If you’re Morton, then minions like you can screw off. Where’s your boss?"
Morton grinned, clearly unfazed. "Our master isn’t here."
Edge’s lips curled into a smirk at the response. He channeled his aura into his spear, the green hue shifting to a deep black as it ignited with black mana.
Morton’s eyes widened in shock. "W-What? What’s up with the color of your mana?"
