Sofia stood in front of the military gym—a simple yet sturdy building with walls made of reinforced concrete and steel. Her eyes were still a little tired, the result of a night that was too emotional and a morning that was just... too embarrassing.
She took a deep breath, then stepped inside.
Some soldiers in the training area gave her a respectful nod. She returned the gesture and walked straight into the locker room, changing into a white sports bra and black workout shorts. Then she made her way to the weight section and lifted a 60kg barbell as if it weighed nothing.

The sound of metal hitting metal sliced through the quiet morning.
I need to focus... Stop thinking about her. That stupid zombie...
But Sylvia’s face, with her blank expression and awkward scribbling in that little notebook, kept surfacing in her mind.
Meanwhile, far from any human presence, Sylvia stood before a massive portal that pulsed slowly, emitting a greenish-blue light that blinked like a beating heart. The air around it was being pulled inward, creating a pressure that made her chest feel tight.
She frowned as she stared at it. "Should I go in or not? But I need EXP... and chances are, there are some good enemies inside."
She reached out and touched the surface of the portal. It felt like cold water—but solid. A flicker of hesitation crossed her face. Then she took a breath—not that she needed to breathe—and stepped in.
