Chapter 808 - 808: Roland Hill
5th Zone, City A
Jeremy saw the middle-aged man trying to flee. When he got closer, he saw the middle-aged man effortlessly land on the ground from mid-air.
He noticed the difference in their power levels. The middle-aged man was at least a Tier-5 or higher Beast Tamer.
He was shocked internally. He didn't have time to process. He saw the man escaping into the alley.
Seeing that, Jeremy didn't hesitate. He, too, landed on the ground and followed the man toward the small street located between the buildings.
When he entered the street, he saw no one. He had lost sight of the man. He paused his footsteps and used his second eye power.
Objects became transparent. He could see objects behind the building walls. He then saw people in those buildings.
His gaze swept across the place. He saw some people going about their business and others watching the news. Others were doing laundry.
But there was only one person not moving. He appeared to be looking in Jeremy's direction. Jeremy confirmed that person could be the same man.
His eyes gleamed with a twinkle. Why did he feel it was some kind of setup? Jeremy felt that it could be a trap.
The collision was not an accident. It appeared that the truck driver had purposely rammed the truck into the cab.
Jeremy continued to observe. It had been five minutes, yet the man hadn't moved from the spot. He was sure this was the same guy.
He then took out his device and tried to connect a call with Head Harold. The phone rang, but no one was answering.
His heartbeat was increasing. They were in the city; no one dared to break the rules and commit crimes here. But there were exceptions.
He didn't know who else it could be other than Darkshade members. They had tried to kill him three times before.
He had eliminated the first two groups, and he escaped the third attempt due to the Beast Tide.
Jeremy weighed the possibility that this was a valid reason. They must have lost their patience. He then looked at his device and thought of reminding Team Leader Melinda.
Then, he shook his head.
"She is already tormented by the death of team members. They were there before him. He is a newcomer," Jeremy thought.
He collected his thoughts and put away the device.
Then he checked his handgun case.
A quick gleam appeared in his eyes. If the attacker happened to be a Tier-6 Beast Tamer, he knew how to safeguard himself.
He then looked at the man with x-ray vision. After locating him, he walked on the ground. In order to not alert the man, he behaved normally.
On the other hand, the attacker was a middle-aged man. His name was Roland Hill, a Tier-6 Beast Tamer of the Hill Family.
He had rammed the truck into the cab for only one reason: his target was Jeremy Night, and he wanted to eliminate him.
The Family Head, Robert Hill, ordered him not to come back without completing the mission. The Family Head's son, Tyson Hill, was missing.
He was said to be dead, killed by a lightning strike from a Tier-9 Sky Crocodile. Robert Hill was devastated.
But he was more pissed off to learn that the young man from the Red Moon Chamber had survived.
Yet his son was dead. He had hired Darkshade members for the job, but they had failed.
Robert then decided to take the matter into his own hands. He ordered Roland for the job.
Roland saw that the young man was going to reach the end of the road. He had seen him take out the device.
He didn't know whether he had called for any help, so he had to be quicker. There was an abandoned factory nearby.
Once the young man entered the place, he would be swift in his actions. He would use the old-school method.
The strength of a Tier-6 Beast Tamer is many times stronger than a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. He couldn't use his lifeline beast here.
Otherwise, he would be exposed. He could only use brute strength to kill the young man. He wouldn't use his talent either.
Because those were the things that would expose him easily, he waited for the young man to come. The factory was near the end of the street.
He believed the young man had a strong sense of justice and would enter the abandoned factory to find him.
On the other hand, Jeremy Night had his eyes locked on the man before the man could realize the truth.
Seeing that the man had entered a new place from his previous location, Jeremy's suspicion grew. He then scanned the new building again.
He saw nothing but an empty building. There was no one hiding there. The man was all alone.
"What is he planning?" he thought.
Jeremy knew it was impossible for the man to bring out his lifeline beast. If he brought his lifeline beast outside, it would be a major crime. He wouldn't escape punishment.
So Jeremy thought the man could be planning something else. He needed to be careful. He then thought of Head Harold and the others.
He took out his device again. He felt something was wrong about it. He was going to try to connect to Head Harold.
If the Head didn't pick up, he would enter the empty building. He had sensed the power level of the middle-aged man earlier.
He thought the man could be a Tier-5 or Tier-6 Beast Tamer. If it were a Tier-7 Beast Tamer, he would have been petrified on the spot.
Jeremy phoned Head Harold. The phone rang, but he was not answering. Jeremy then put away the device.
He had confidence in his starlight power. The starlight power could hurt a Tier-6 Beast Tamer. As long as he was careful, he could survive the current situation.
There was also another option: going back. He didn't want to do that. If the man was after him, he would definitely chase him.
He didn't want to find himself in that situation.
He needed to be the one to take advantage.
