SILVER-HEART

Chapter 141: Lost Existence

The sun at its highest peak, reflecting through the windows and into the library holding trillions of shelves and books, like a never ending view of them, reaching through miles and miles, tall and elegant and different from the regular library you have come to know.

Severus arranged some books on the shelves, before taking the ones he needed and walking towards the arbiter’s office, just at a large colorful window bringing forth light rays due to the sunlight.

William Basker Darkmore seated on his chair as he went through mountains of books, but he wasn’t focusing on just the work he had at hand, but a particular one, with a back made of silver, as he wrote against it with his quill.

’It’s been 700 centuries and I have roamed the mortal realm every hundred years, in search of a Fairy, but to no avail. It is either I’m too late or a fairy doesn’t exist in that timeline...’

He darted his eyes at the mask just beside him, a keepsake given to him by Basker as a means of giving him a limited time whenever he went forth to the Mortal Realm. He darted his eyes back to his writing.

’This is a task given to me ever since I could understand words, and it is also a prophecy, a prophecy that says a Fairy Shall Reunite all. In my case my family. I don’t know much about them or what they look like but I hoped to meet them one day. Basker never told me much about them, only saying my Father was a great man and my mother was a creature with the purest of hearts. Basker is no more for a long time now, but I have the company of three servants that I have been acquainted with in the past few centuries.’

Severus dropped some books that needed cataloging on the desk before giving a bow and departing to work.

William’s crystal green eyes lingered on Severus until he disappeared into the line of shelves and then he descended his gaze back on his Journal. One he has used to dictate his life for as long as he could remember. He didn’t exactly know when he started writing down a record of his life, but it brought an unknown peace to him, almost like he could lay down both his worries within this book, not to solve them but keep them down.

It randomly felt like he was speaking to someone.

’Sometimes I feel strange... a lingering feeling but I can’t explain what it is... I feel like there is a part of me missing, a part of me that has been split away from me. The other three acts are strange sometimes. Like Severus who keeps visiting a nonexistent table at the far corner without knowing why, and adding an extra seat at my table. Elvenia on the other hand randomly pauses for a bit and keeps staring at the burning fire in a lost thought, and sometimes cooks too much and keeps it at the dining hall we never use. I wonder why.

Sophia keeps playing in the garden more than usual, especially at a spot close to the pond just on the patio, like she’s convinced that place brings her more comfort. It is odd. Everything feels odd’
