Chapter 232: Shattered
Out of everyone I thought would be by my side and support me and hold me close... my teeth clenched painfully... I thought Emilia was on my side but I thought wrong. My dad I can understand because of how he thinks differently in his sick ways and makes decisions purely for the survival and prosperity of our clan. What he was doing was no surprise to me. I have grown to know him that way. That is why we don’t see eye to eye on things.
But Emilia... She had no idea how much her words conquered me, he knows how much I have cared for Emma way before the bond, I shared a bond with Emma way before finding out she was different. I didn’t care that she was human then nor a half-witch, I accepted all of her and I still do and nothing will ever make me give up on her. Taking in Emilia’s words from a different perspective... rejecting Emma was a solution from my toll but why? Why does she have to say it to my face when she knew clearly well I would hate her for it? Emilia why?
"Why Angel, why?" I asked, pinning her with my gaze, her eyes softening at my words like it was the last thing she expected. I knew she said this without thinking it would hit me hard but it did and what’s more, it came from her. In the eyes of others, we fight a lot verbally and clearly like the worst siblings but she was the closest person to my heart and she knew that.
"Dace I-"
My teeth clenched. "None of you ever wanted her," it may not have been shown but I knew there were doubts and they were trying to accept it for my sake. It’s funny how a situation would make a dark side resurface, this was the reason I hated my special abilities because without knowing a person I knew I would hate them. When Emma was known as my Female I knew she was welcomed by my family but there were doubts, that’s why I was yet to announce it to my clan which my dad suggested too and because Emma wasn’t fully claimed by me.
I have always seen it but yet turned a blind eye. They didn’t think she was worthy of me but they were wrong because I was the one who wasn’t worthy of Emma, she was too perfect for me to the point it was almost impossible.
"You all think so highly of me to the point you think Emma’s insignificant?"
"I’m not saying that Dace I-"
I didn’t let her finish as I let her go and she gasped at my brutal action.
"Dace" she began.
"Get. Out. My. Sight!" My words were harsh and untamed, this was the first time I have spoken to her like this. It struck her so hard that she remained frozen where she was and tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
She won’t leave then... but that won’t stop me.
