About half an hour later, the three of them finally sat down to dine. Song Li brought out the red wine he had brought, unwrapped the paper around it, and looked towards Jiang An sitting across from him, not forgetting to ask, "Can sister-in-law drink alcohol?"
Jiang An, remembering her past drunken antics, hesitated before nodding, "I can drink a little."
Song Li brought over three wine glasses and slowly poured the wine. After washing his hands, Gao Chuan came over and naturally sat next to Jiang An, noticing the half-glass of red wine beside her and frowning. He and Song Li usually drank high-proof alcohol, and it seemed like too much for a young girl like Jiang An.
"If you can drink, then drink; don’t overdo it." The man’s eyes were dark and his tone commanding as he spoke.
Jiang An nodded at his words, picked up the wine glass beside her, and gently sniffed it. Taking a reluctant sip, the sour and sweet taste surprisingly tasted good. She quietly licked her lips as Song Li already raised his glass in front of her, "Here, sister-in-law, a toast to you. Feel free to reach out to me anytime you need anything."
Jiang An hurriedly lifted her glass to clink with the man’s, exchanging a few polite words. Meanwhile, Gao Chuan silently ate the food on his plate, overhearing Song Li start to chatter incessantly about his past to Jiang An.
"Sister-in-law, you wouldn’t know, but Dr. Gao started going on arranged dates since the start of this year. Many people introduced him to potential matches but he didn’t like any, yet in the end, it was you who won him over." Song Li spoke recklessly. As the words left his mouth, he distinctly felt Gao Chuan’s gaze turn colder as he looked his way, regretting bringing it up in front of Jiang An.
