Chapter 352: Ungrateful
I could hear Sadie’s voice in the distance, making sure that the survivors stayed organized, even as they went hunting for a room or a place to sleep.
Colt was standing over me, blocking the sun from view as his chest rose and fell like I was personally responsible for the apocalypse and everything shitty in his life. I mean, I wasn’t completely innocent, but I wasn’t responsible for any of this shit.
In fact, if the house hadn’t sent us here, he and everyone with him would have downed when the building collapsed or been eaten by the killer dolphins.
When I pointed that fact out to him, he turned even redder as he started grumbling under his breath.
Suddenly, the apartment gave one last loud groan before completely collapsing. As a result, the water around us turned violent; the waves from the impact of the building falling sent us bobbing up and down like apples.
The people on the deck let out a startled scream as a few children started to cry, their loud wails giving me a headache. "It looks like Sadie could use some help," I stated, cocking my head to the side as Colt tried to form a word or two.
Finally giving up, he spun around and stormed off.
"Looks like ’e doesn’t understand it yet," sighed Beau as he raised his beer to the sky. The ship was still going up and down with the waves, and I could hear the dolphin chirping happily, waiting for someone else to fall into the water.
"Doesn’t understand what?" I asked, taking a sip of my own drink. I knew that nothing would or could hurt this ship. It was part of the wish, after all. So, as long as I stayed on it, I would be perfectly safe. I might as well enjoy the impromptu cruise. The devil only knew when I would get another one.
