Chapter 351: Over Here Dying
"Perfect," I purred. "Then get Sadie on the boat, no matter what she says. I have all her stuff with me; all you need is her."
"What do you mean?" asked Colt, going back to the growly lumberjack that I had first met. That was probably a good thing. This sensitive side to him was making me break out in hives.
"We are running out of time," I said flatly. As if to prove my point, a giant wave crashed against the side of the building, sending the gangplank crashing into the window frame, almost causing the two people on it to fall into the waters.
The dolphins chirped happily as they came to the surface, their shiny black eyes staring at the two people like they were an offering to the gods.
"Can’t you just snap your fingers and get us all on that boat?" snarled Colt. He spun around, trying to find Sadie to get her to safety. I had to admit, that man was starting to grow on me a bit. At least he was loyal which was more than I could say about most people nowadays.
"I could," I agreed with a nod and a smile. "But I’m really not that nice. Anyone who falls behind gets left behind. Isn’t that part of the pirate code?"
"We’re not fucking pirates," grunted Colt as he finally found his woman.
"The ship suggests differently," I smiled back. "After all, it was Sadie’s wish that manifested it. Maybe that was the image she had in her head when making it."
Grumbling under his breath about women who read too many romance books, Colt stormed off, leaving me with my three men.
