Chapter 1662: A Quiet End to the Battle
United City (Main Post)
The cab was heading towards the residence. I leaned back against the seat, viewing the passing scenes through the window.
The driver drove patiently, but he looked in the rearview mirror from time to time. It was because he had just realized something.
The driver himself was a Red Mark Warrior. He noticed that the strength of the person sitting in the back seat was only at the Half-Step Red Mark.
Earlier, he hadn’t paid much attention, but he realized it now. He was curious. He didn’t know what a young man was doing here.
It was rare to see a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior at the main post. He didn’t dare to inquire.
Ten minutes later,
The cab reached the residence. I walked out of the cab and paid the fare to the driver. Then I watched the cab leave the place.
I made my way back to the room. After returning inside, I shut the door. I went to the sofa to sit down, then I turned on the big screen.
The news began to play on the screen. The news anchor was reporting about the battlefield. The battle this time was difficult, as always.
The Peak Red Mark Warriors had a tough fight. They fought against elite-level creatures. The elite-level creatures were on par with them.
They were close to becoming the foreign creatures’ Quasi-God Powerhouses. The result this time was not decisive. Neither side gained any advantage.
As time passed, I continued to watch the news. But there was no news about me. I wondered whether they knew about my special battlefield.
Buzz!
Just then, my device buzzed. I took the device and saw a message from the office administration.
I then opened the message and began to read it. The administration staff knew about my special battlefield.
[Zack Lockwood, you have done extremely well. That dark purple lightning of yours is truly destructive. We have watched your battle footage.]
[The foreign creatures there were dragged in by the sudden appearance of the space crack. It was not the official battlefield, so no one knows about it.]
[It is advisable that you should not share the details with others.]
After reading everything, I didn’t know what to say. But it was a big thing. I never thought they would keep it a surprise from the foreign creatures.
"To think they truly created a battlefield for you. It’s a big matter. The enemy side won’t have a clue," the ancient spirit said.
"I guess the human side is doing it to get revenge on the enemy side. Their actions at the sub-post battlefields had crossed the limit," I replied.
"You should not miss this opportunity. The foreign creature side might take some time to find out the truth," the ancient spirit said.
"I know," I replied.
Then I collected my thoughts. My attention shifted back to the big screen. So, no one knew about it. The media didn’t have a clue yet. I shook my head before turning it off.
Next, I lay back on the sofa.
...
Meanwhile,
The council elders were busy with their work. They were watching and reviewing the battle footage. But everyone had forgotten about the special battlefield except a few elders.
Elder Freya watched the battle footage of Zack Lockwood with the other elders. Everyone was shocked by Zack Lockwood’s combat strength.
The Red Mark Creatures that appeared on the battlefield were elite as well. If they had appeared on the main battlefield, they would have posed a serious threat to the other warriors.
But here, the young man had easily defeated them.
Freya was shocked for another reason. She knew about the bloodline power. From Head Francesca, she had learned that Zack Lockwood had another ancient inheritance.
The lightning power he was displaying right now was originally a Red Mark Level inheritance. She had heard that it was brought by Faction Leader Clifford to hide the news of the original inheritance.
In the footage, there was not a single instance where Zack Lockwood used the original ancient inheritance and his bloodline power to fight.
He had been using the lightning power all along. She was shocked. She was now experiencing the same shock as her friend Rowena.
Now she knew how Zack Lockwood survived the battlefield. He alone had caused the foreign creatures to take massive damage.
Her eyes flashed with seriousness. She thought that the enemy side must have gotten some information.
If they knew it was Zack Lockwood, it was possible for them to learn about his abnormal combat power.
She was glad that it was a battlefield created for Zack Lockwood. There was no way for the enemy side to know about the place.
She glanced sideways. If the nearby elders learned the truth, it was possible for them to spread the news through word of mouth.
All the enemy side needed was a clue. Who knew where they had their spies? She decided to advise Zack Lockwood later about this matter.
"Elder Freya, what happened?" one of the female elders asked.
Freya shook her head and said, "I’m focusing on the footage."
Hearing that, the female elder didn’t ask further.
...
Dark Planet
The high command was looking at the results of the main battlefield. After seeing that it was another head-to-head fight, they were disappointed.
None of these high command creatures knew about the sudden space crack which caught a few of their members.
...
The following day,
After getting out of bed, I began my daily routine. The fight against the elite creatures reminded me that I could not stay complacent.
The morning routine lasted for one hour. Then I entered the essence chamber for my daily practice.
A few hours later,
I walked out of the chamber. Next, after taking a quick bath, I left the room and decided to go to the training camp here.
Unlike the multiple training camps back at the sub-post, there was only one training camp here. And this training camp was large.
I watched it on the news channel yesterday. More than a hundred warriors were at the training camp.
It didn’t take long for me to find a cab. Next, I began heading towards the destination in a cab.
