Chapter 1663: Visiting the Training Camp

Training Camp (Main Post)

I arrived at the training camp ten minutes later. After getting out of the cab, I paid the fare to the driver.

Next, I turned around. My gaze immediately fell on the towering buildings inside the training campus.

I became curious about these skyscrapers. As my gaze passed over the entrances, I noticed that warriors were coming and going. I followed them toward the entrance.

The warriors who were heading forward were at the Peak Stage of Red Mark Warriors. These warriors were chatting and laughing among themselves.

Suddenly, they felt that someone with Half-Step Red Mark strength was coming behind them.

Suddenly, everyone turned around at the same time. The warriors were six in number. I was just following them from behind.

Seeing that they were looking toward me, I was taken aback.

"Hello," I greeted them.

"Can anyone help me by showing me the help desk?" I asked.

Only after the members heard that did they come back to their senses.

Then they realized that they were really looking at a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior, even though the person was wearing a mask to cover his face.

They could tell that he was very young. "What is he doing here?" was the same thought on everyone’s mind.

When was the last time they had seen such a young warrior before? One of the female members had a quick realization.

"What’s your name?" she asked. She had rare, curly orange hair with blue eyes.

Hearing that, I had no intention of hiding anything from them.

"My name is Zack Lockwood. It’s nice to meet you, seniors," I said with a smile.

"Zack Lockwood. So, it’s you!" the orange curly-headed warrior exclaimed in surprise.

The male and female members looked at each other. They, too, had heard of the name before. Now that their friend had said it, they had some realization as well.

The recent battle had made them forget about it, but they had heard about his arrival before. It was a surprise to see him here. They knew he was a famous young man.

"It’s nice to meet you, young warrior. My name is Blake. These are my friends." After saying that, the middle-aged warrior made the introductions.

I heard their names one by one. I had been expecting something else; I had thought they would be rude. But the seniors seemed to be kind and gentle. Our conversation extended further.

I was new to the camp, so I made a request to them. The seniors did not take long to make their decision.

Senior Blake immediately agreed and said, "We will show you around. What do you guys think?"

"Yeah. We will help you," the orange curly-haired warrior said. Her name was Kate.

The other members in the group voiced their opinions as well.

"Let’s go," Blake said to me.

I nodded to him and started following from behind.

"I didn’t expect this group of strong people to actually be from the warrior families and clans," the ancient spirit said to me. Its voice sounded surprised.

"After coming here, I have realized that there are strong forces outside the six universities as well," I replied in my mind. Still, I felt it was good to meet people like them who were without biases.

As time passed, we exited through the hallways and walked into the main area.

The first building we came across was the help desk. Blake gave a brief introduction before taking me to the actual training facilities.

We then arrived in front of a towering structure. It was one of the skyscrapers.

My gaze fell upon the black tower. I was surprised because the tower had no distinct floors; it was one single, massive structure.

Blake, Kate, and the others were looking toward the tower.

"It’s called the Night Cell Tower. This training facility will deprive you of your vision. You cannot see anything inside. You have to fight against the enemies using your other senses," Blake explained.

Hearing that, I was stunned. I was hearing about something like this for the very first time.

"Who are the enemies?" I asked.

Kate and the others smiled. Senior Blake showed a mysterious smile as well.

"We have heard a lot about your actions in the sub-post. But it’s difficult to recreate a similar record here. The enemies you will be facing here are real enemies," Blake said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Kate chuckled and said, "The enemies are none other than human criminals and captured foreign creatures."

Hearing that, I felt as if a thunderclap had struck my head. The seniors watching Zack Lockwood enjoyed his reaction.

"Ha... ha... ha..." Blake let out a hearty laugh.

"It’s nice to see such a calm and composed young warrior getting shocked right now," Blake remarked.

I collected my thoughts and said, "I never thought that criminals would be used for training. And I never expected foreign creatures to be captured alive."

The faces of Blake, Kate, and the others shifted into serious expressions.

"Zack, when we were like you decades ago, we had a similar expression. But guess what? Real human warriors and foreign creatures are far better training partners than humanoid puppets."

"It’s just that they will really go for the kill. The only way for you to survive the training is to kill them or brutally injure them," Kate said in a grim tone.

Hearing that, I gained some understanding.

"She is right. The training facilities here are like internal battlefields. If you cannot survive here, then you won’t survive the main battlefields," the ancient spirit advised.

My heart set off storms. I started to understand why the Red Mark Warriors could fight against the foreign creatures head-to-head on the main battlefield.

Senior Blake and the others were watching the reaction of Zack Lockwood. Seeing that Zack Lockwood was not totally terrified, their eyes flashed with approval.

At the same time, they grew intensely curious. They wondered how Zack Lockwood would fare against the real threats lurking inside the Night Cell Tower.

"It’s real training," I said to them.

Kate thought of something, and her eyes flashed with surprise and sudden intrigue.

"Why don’t you enter the Night Cell Tower to face the challenge?" Kate asked.

The expressions of the other members changed drastically.

Blake frowned and said, "Zack Lockwood is only a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior. He broke through recently. It’s far too early for him to accept such dangerous challenges."

Hearing that, Kate came to her senses and said, "I apologize. I just got overly excited to see Zack Lockwood’s true strength."
