Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession

Chapter 365: I wanna talk to him

"It’s not me," Kade pointed at Ella as he said, "Somebody had to prepare a recovery meal for my brother."

Old Madam King and Old Master King exchanged a brief glance.

In fact, last night, the couple had discussed what Ronan told them. Probably, for the King Family, Ella was not the right choice.

Yet, seeing as she cared for their grandson, they couldn’t help but soften towards her.

And both of them knew and understood their grandson. With how stubborn Adrian was, he would never give up on Ella even if they asked him to.

As soon as Ella greeted the Old Master King and Old Madam King, they asked the rest of the people to empty the room, to give the couple some space.

Outside the hospital room, the Old Master looked at his wife, "Are we doing the right thing?"

"You know our grandson and his way of making decisions. After he lost his brother, he completely changed," Old Madam looked into the distance, "His mother..."

She sighed and shook her head, "I have only ever seen the glimpses of his true self when he is with Ella."

The Old Master King was also in a dilemma. In fact, he liked Ella as a person but with everything out in front of him, it unsettled him, "Adrian is the last true heir of the Kings, nothing should happen to him..."

The old man stopped speaking when he saw Kade standing in front of him.

Kade’s usually playful smile was absent from his face.

"You..." Old Master King sighed, "I did not mean to call you illegitimate but..."

"I know, Grandpa. I understand," Kade smiled, "It is true that I am an illegitimate child. And other than brother, nobody is fit to rule the King Empires."

"Child, you are dearest too," Old Madam King kissed Kade’s forehead, sighing at the delicate situation they all had landed in.

At this moment—

’Crash’

At the loud sound, everyone rushed inside the hospital room.

The scene that greeted their eyes rooted them in their spots.

Cutleries were scattered across the floor, porridge and noodles splashed along the walls.

A vein was popping on Adrian’s neck, his temper visibly flaring up.

Ella stood at a little distance, her palms were pressed to her ears while her eyes looked ahead at the man in disbelief, "A-Adrian, you..."

"How dare you!"

"What?" Ella blinked slowly.

But Adrian was no longer looking at her at this point. His gaze had snapped to Kade who was standing at the door, "Is this how you do things? You have hired such a cook for me?"

Kade’s jaw dropped, not a single word coming out of his mouth.

"Not only she wanted to feed me these simple dishes but she even addressed this young master by name..." Adrian broke out in a coughing fit before he could even finish speaking.

But the cockiness in his aura seemed to have enveloped the whole room. The Adrian they were familiar with never addressed himself as ’this young master’.

And most importantly, how could he not recognize Ella?

Ella did not say a single word but her face paled gradually. She inhaled a deep breath and slowly stuttered, "Please call the doctor," she said to no one in particular but Kade was the first to move.

Ronan was summoned back and the rest of the people were moved outside.

For two whole hours, a new batch of tests were run on Adrian.

When Ronan stepped out of the room, his face was sombre.

"What happened to Little Ian? How could he..." Old Madam King trailed off as she spoke, her eyes gradually reddening.

"His reports are fine. There is no issue physically but it seems like the accident had caused him to forget certain things and..." He paused and then looked at Ella, "certain people. He has selective amnesia."

Old Master King stepped forward, "But even if he lost his memories, he seems to have become a completely different person..."

"It’s called dissociative fugue," Ronan said, "In simpler words, he has dissociated from the person he used to be. He may or may not act like the... Ace we all are familiar with."

Even though Ronan laid it out in a professional tone, one could hear the heaviness in his voice.

"Then, the King Empires..." Old Master King staggered back.

"I talked to him," Ronan said, "And it seems he doesn’t remember anything about him being the CEO of King Empires. In fact, he..."

Ronan trailed off and gazed at Kade but nobody was focused enough to notice that look of his.

Except Ella.

Ella did not miss a single word that came out of Ronan’s mouth. And she noticed every change in his reaction.

But her mind was stuck on one thing. The way Adrian’s eyes had looked at her like she was completely unfamiliar to him. In both her lives, Adrian had never looked at her with such a gaze.

And now that he did, it did not give her any sort of pleasure.

Had he refused to recognize her a few months ago, Ella would have been the happiest person in the world. But now, it felt like somebody stuck a dagger in her heart.

"I want to talk to him."

Ella’s voice broke everyone’s trance and it seemed like all the people had something to say, but nobody said a word.

Ella did not move from her spot as she looked at Ronan.

Ronan looked at Old Master King and Old Madam King. Seeing the hint of helplessness on their faces, he sighed, "Don’t stimulate him too much. Take it slow."

When Ella entered the room, her footsteps slowed.

She looked at the man who was laying back on the bed, gazing out of the window in silence.

The scar on his face couldn’t hide his handsomeness. But unlike before, Adrian did not seem unapproachable.

The Adrian before would give off an icy aura, that would intimidate one from approaching him. But right now, his eyes were slightly frivolous yet gentle, and the air around him was warm.
