Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession

Chapter 353: Who killed her?

"Mhm," A gruff grunt interrupted her words, "Did you attack Ella?"

Jenny nodded her head, a hint of excitement in her eyes.

"I attacked her just like you wanted me to!" Jenny nodded hurriedly.

"And did you observe the surroundings?" The masculine voice sounded gruff as the person took a small step towards Jenny.

Jenny retreated a few steps, "It’s... I... You have asked me to check if somebody comes to save her when I corner her."

"Did you?"

Jenny gulped.

During this time, she had been under a lot of pressure.

She was originally the mistress of Dean Mo’s elder brother.

But there was a lot of bad blood between the brothers. And in no time, the strife showed up in the company as well when the directors and other important members tried to side with Dean Mo who was a charming smooth talker.

When the Mo Corps fell into Dean Mo’s control, his elder brother had her seduced Dean Mo.

And it was in the initial days that Jenny had bumped into Ella. At that time, very few people knew that she was Dean Mo’s mistress.

And even fewer people knew her background as someone who was connected to Dean Mo’s brother.

To keep her identity secret, she joined hands with Esther and caused Ella’s downfall.

She thought that the threat was gone. But Jenny could never have thought that not only would Ella return in all her glory, she would go all out to destroy her.

Jenny underestimated Ella. The years of work she had put into orchestrating Dean Mo’s death was wasted just like that.

Now she was being hunted by the police of the Vermilion City as she was a criminal. She was abandoned by her backers as she was a useless pawn.

So, after this, how could she care enough about Ella’s surroundings?

The moment she saw Ella, she had overcome the urge to strangle her to death.

But she knew that the person in front of her, masked in the shadows, was her last straw of survival.

She couldn’t offend this man right now.

Bracing herself up, Jenny recollected the details of the incident, "When I attacked Ella, only Mo Jun was there. Nobody else came. Nobody came to save her."

The person standing in front of Jenny remained silent for the longest time.

"Nobody? Not a single shadow guard?" The man suddenly uttered.

Jenny was taken aback then she burst into laughter, "Shadow guard? Don’t tell me you also believe she has something to with that bigshot? Those rumours can’t be believed really..."

"If Ella had such an influential backer, then she would not be going through the trifles in the Imperial University where she was under my control nor would she be doing petty businesses for her survival. A man as powerful as Adrian King would have to be blind if he lets such a bitch cling to him—"

’Bang’

The sound of a bullet pierced through the air and Jenny’s eyes widened.

She slowly looked down at her chest as trails of crimson trickled down her body.

Then she looked ahead at the person standing in front, "Y-Y-You said if I do... what you say... then... you... you will protect..."

"You didn’t do as I said. Makes you useless," The voice dropped, sounding heartless and mighty.

The person stretched an arm and dropped the hood.

Jenny’s eyes widened slightly when she saw the face, a hint of confusion swirled along with something else, "You... You..."

’Bang’

A bullet pierced straight between her eyebrows and any words left in her mouth dispersed in air as Jenny crashed back into the wall and slowly slid down.

"Noisy," The man pulled his hood up and turned around, his face once again enveloped in the shadows.

Sounds of halting cars and approaching footsteps reverberated in the alley.

The man remained rooted in his spot for a moment before he blended into the darkness of the night.

A group of men in black rushed into the alley, their frigid faces turned solemn when they spotted Jenny’s body.

"Her body is still warm," One of the men declared as he examined Jenny’s corpse, "Secretary Ji wanted us to capture her alive but in this case..."

The man who was assigned as the new captain of the shadow guards stepped forward, "The murderer couldn’t have gone far. Lock the place down. Nobody should be allowed to pass without a proper inspection."

At his command, the men in black disappeared in the night like shadows and in no time, the entire street was locked down.

...

"She is dead," Mo Jun sighed as he came to stand in front of Adrian and Ji Yan.

"Mr. Mo, you were also looking for her. Who do you think could’ve killed her?"

"I reached there some time after President King’s men did so I don’t know..." Mo Jun shook his head, "In fact, I am having my men investigate the situation."

Ji Yan glanced at Adrian who was standing there, unmoved, with a face that seemed more like an ice sculpture.

Inhaling a soft breath, he turned to Mo Jun, "Who could know Miss Jennifer better than you? Do you think she had enemies who would want to kill her brutally?"

"Ah, she was not a likeable person so I’m certain she must have offended a lot of people..." Mo Jun trailed off as a sudden realization sunk into him.

He looked at Adrian, gulped softly, and then glanced at Ji Yan, "Secretary Ji, are you insinuating that I killed her?"

Ji Yan gave a shallow smile.

Mo Jun stiffened and then smiled bitterly, "I hated the woman’s guts and would’ve loved to deal with her personally. But she was pregnant when the case was settled and the child... was at no fault..."

"After this encounter, I knew President King wanted her alive so of course, I..." Mo Jun raised his hands in a surrendering gesture.

Ji Yan looked at Adrian who remained silent then he turned to Mo Jun and glanced at him quietly.
